    I think there is some confusion about the First Order TIE fighters. At some point it was stated (I don’t remember when or where) that Kylo’s new TIE was the TIE Whisper. This is now generally being reported or stated in multiple different areas and I believe this to be incorrect. On one of the threads here (I wish I could remember exactly where) there is a picture that shows the different ships and the TIE Whisper appears to be a regular looking TIE is definitely not the one Kylo is flying in the trailer and that TIE is in the picture as well. So I don’t think Kylo’s TIE is the Whisper

    Kylo’s Tie looks more like the Tie-Interceptor of ROTJ:

    Kylo’s Tie looks augmented and customized. Perhaps like Vader’s Tie Advanced? Or the other possibility is that its merely First Order design, like how the Stormtrooper masks changed for stylistic purposes and probably in the story would be considered the same by the characters; i.e. JJ wanted the designs to look better or fresher, just like in ST films when he changed the look of Enterprise but in essence its the same ship as the one William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy were on.

    In the Vanity Fair-Star ward edition, JJ Abrams was standing among the Knights of Ren. One of the Knights of Ren had a staff that looked familiar.
    It is the same staff from Solo: A Star Wars story......

    Or just my overactive brain?

    I think it’s the same staff from SOLO but it actually turned up first in TFA so I think it’s more a case of reusing what at the time was a background prop in TFA as a background prop in SOLO & now is being used in TROS as a continuation of what was seen in TFA so I don’t think Mall will be connected to the KOR although I won’t be disappointed if there is some obscure link between the two.
