I can see that. I just don't see that as them fighting side by side. It might or might not be a conscious mutual act is I guess the point of contention, albeit very minor I suppose.

If I had to choose, I'd say it looks to me as if they are both intentionally taking a swing at the stand... but without the context of the scene, I agree, it's hard to say for sure.

Seems to be a lot of duelling going between these two in this movie though.

I'm going to call it here first though - they both figure out the mask has to be destroyed for some reason, and that is what we are seeing here...
Either as a symbolic act to "free" Ben, or there is literally something about the mask which means it has to be destroyed...

You're probably right. It doesn't look like they were fighting together (as I predicted they would) but rather taking a swing at the stand.

    *Incoming rant warning*

visually, I thought the trailer was outstanding. And that’s where the positives end.

Just when I started to have hope for this movie after all the leaks, teases etc they have to subvert my expectations yet again.

My main issue with this trailer (and the ST as a whole) is Finn, Poe, the whole resistance side story and now Rose. Seriously what do these characters add to the story or the saga as a whole? Every time Finn or Poe are on screen I think “ergh what boring, cliche drivel are we going to hear next?”.

All Finn seems to do is come out with some cliche inspirational dialogue. I mean, he’d make a great kids toy where you *push button here to hear inspirational quote that teaches good morals for children* but other than that he adds literally nothing to this saga. He’s without doubt the single worst character in Star Wars history.

They are absolutely OBSESSED with trying to create the sense of companionship that the OT had. They should have gave up with this obsession after TFA. None of these characters offer any sort of emotional Weight, do they even know each other?

And the problem is, they’ve decided to make all this the forefront of the trailer and quite possibly the entire movie.

When I first started watching the trailer I thought, ok this is it... this is Anakin speaking isn’t it? Then within a second this was squashed when I realised it was Finn.

I was so hoping for a movie that brought the saga full circle with the OT and PT. Now I feel we just have another visually cool space romp with Finn and his merry band of insurgents.

Looks like RoS is going to be an epic saga ender with huge stakes, enormous emotional power, and fantastic tension. It's a great big "yup!" from me! :D

This was an underwhelming trailer compared to the Celebration teaser and D23 sizzle reel, but I still believe that the film itself will deliver.

You're upset that the ST characters are on the preview? What sort of hope for this movie did you have that involved Finn and Poe not being part of the movie?

Good storytelling is subjective. You have every right to dislike TLJ for whatever reason you may have. That doesn't mean those who liked it just think "Oh it looks good so it's a good movie". Some people like myself liked where RJ took the story.

    Ok... wait a minute.

    Wait a minute.

    *Replays trailer*

Are my eyes deceiving me -OR-

Is there really not a single frame dedicated to the Knights of Ren?

Why are they holding the KoR so close to the vest? Is this group actually an invention of Palpatine and key to the movie? Because to not see them at all is a little surprising.

I stand by my beleif they mutually swung to destroy the Vader statue/shrine. I do not think they were dueling each other in that scene.

Judging by this trailer it seems that Kylo and Rey will share a whole bunch of scenes together.
They are all over the place, and that's really good because they have great chemistry.

Also, don't forget the desert scene from April teaser.

I’m so invested in the new characters, and to see them interacting with things from Star Wars past, it’s just the perfect intersection of old and new. I get the old familiar and the new never before seen, all connected, and what is shaping up to be a huge event.

    “The story lives forever.”

I'm more positive on the trailer now than I was last night. Still not sure about that Threepio line being there but otherwise a pretty good trailer. I'm happy that they didn't show us anything big and EXTREMELY happy that they didn't do a, "I need someone to show me my place in all of this" *Kylo extends hand* type thing. Sure, it's not good for speculation but it doesn't set up any kind of expectation that will later be used against the movie.

That ship shot dough. It's there if you look for it. It doesn't just say it, so to speak like Celebration or D23.
