There are so many different releases, I couldn't list them all (the poll only allows for ten options) but I thought it would be fun to see and talk about how many times we have purchased these movies and on which formats.

Let's see, currently I have the original VHS release of the OT (displayed on top of my movie shelf ATM), somewhere in the basement I have the P&S version of the 97 Special Editions, a...perfectly legal Blu-Ray version of the theatrical versions of the OT, and the 2011 individual release of the PT. In the past, I had the individual DVD versions of the PT but have since sold them off.

I had the following over the years

OT SE on VHS (no longer have)
Episode 1 & 2 on VHS (no longer have)
Episode 3 on DVD (no longer have)
OT - DVD, Wide screen, first run (no longer have)
Episode 1 & 2 on DVD (no longer have)
Episode 7 on Bluray (sold it for...)

    Currently own,
Episode 1 - 6 on Bluray Boxset (I believe the first gen, that has the tan colored box, 2011?)
Episode 7 on Bluray 3D edition
    Rogue One on Bluray
    Episode 8 on 4k Bluray
    Solo on 4k Bluray

I may hold off on Episode 9 when it comes out. I'm going to wait and see what they are going to do with the 4k version of movies and get Episode 9 during that time frame if they officially re-release the previous movies in 4k.

I have the remastered version on VHS released in 1995. This was my first copy of the OT. My father bought it to me when I was 10.
    Screenshot_20200103-144037_Chrome.jpg
I also bought, years later, the Special Edition box for the OT:
    Screenshot_20200103-144254_Chrome.jpg
Then I bought the VHS of TPM:
    Screenshot_20200103-144438_Chrome.jpg
Then I also bought another version of the OT in vhs, I think this one was released in 2000:
    Screenshot_20200103-144639_Chrome.jpg

    - I bought the DVD's of TPM, AOTC and ROTS. The original versions, not the modified ones.

    - Bought also a version of the OT in the DVD, the one that comes with the theatrical release (very poor quality) and the modified version...Bought this movies to see the original trilogy, the ones with modifications I don't like and the addition of Hayden in the end of ROTJ I can't stand.
    Screenshot_20200103-145145_Chrome.jpg

    - And from the last movies I have the DVD of Rogue One, Bluerays of TFA and TLJ.

Having always been poor, I don't possess too many copies:
--OT, early 90s VHS (I assume this is [close to] the theatrical version, although I haven't watch these in over 20 years)

--OT, 97 (?) Special Edition VHS

--OT, early 00s DVD set (the black & silver one with a bonus disc)

    --PT, individual double-disc DVDs

--TFA on 3 disc ("exclusive") box with DVD, 4k, and Blu-ray

    --TLJ on individual, double-disc Blu-ray

    ............

    --RO & S:ASWS on Blu-ray

    --SW:Rebels on DVD

--The Mandalorian in pirate form :p

    ............

--Do not own CW (except the CW film om DVD) or Resistance

Edit: LOL! I forgot to add my PT DVDs earlier

Love those old VHS cases so much. If they released throwback blu-rays with the same box art, I might have to buy the movies again just to have it.

These are 4k versions of the original theatrical version that I bought on ebay, ANH is 4K77 and ROTJ is 4K83. They just came in Bluray cases.

TESB (4K80) is still currently being developed.

    I've owned:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
The 2001 Phantom Menace and the OT 2006 release.
Love the cover art on these editions.
I'm hoping to purchase the whole set sometime soon.

Now that’s commitment. My Star Wars collection doesn’t look nearly as impressive:

I do replace my HDDs from time to time. But, around here, you only really need to remember what you had. Re-downloading everything is much easier than to actually find a DVD or a Blu-Ray. Heck, I don't even have anything that plays disks at home. When I found some old CDs, I had to go looking for places to run them, lol.

I have just been reading about the phenomenon of bit rot- the damage, corruption or loss of digital media stored on storage media. It may be the case that after we have gone and if we are not careful, this may lead to a digital dark age. Not only this, there will be fewer physical assets available for future generations.

It doesn’t take that much effort to preserve data. Just replace your data carriers from time to time and convert older formats into newer ones. It’s just something we need to be aware of.
