The anime anthology Star Wars Visions was deemed, by many, to be a breath of fresh air for fans of the franchise - and now, if the rumors are true, we're about to get more of it later this year.

Cinelinx is reporting that they have it on good authority that Star Wars Visions Season 2 is set to arrive in the Autumn 2022 release window, with multiple independent sources confirming that there is a future for the series. Details are naturally vague, as often proves to be the case for most unannounced Lucasfilm projects, but the report indicates that some of the shorts that were in the first season may get continuations as part of the new batch of Star Wars anime, with their respective studios returning to keep telling those stories. That being said, is not clear which animation studios are involved with the show, nor are there clear answers about which stories will continue.

This welcome rumor follows months of speculation on the return of Visions in the form of a leaked gift box made up of multiple logos of intended 2022 releases (with Indiana Jones 5 appearing to be the only Lucasfilm project that will miss that window, at least as of right now), along with a logo for a Tales of the Jedi project that we don't know anything about. Whether this anthology series has all its episodes drop at once (as the first season did) or if it has a more staggered release strategy remains to be seen, but the shorts are set to arrive at some point between September or October if the site's intel proves to be accurate.

Aside from this, the Cinelinx piece ends on a note that an announcement for the return of the series is expected at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, possibly alongside footage from the new episodes, but there has not been a confirmation of this as of yet. Perhaps more exciting is that Cinelinx is indicating that the weeks leading up to the Star Wars Celebration Anaheim convention - and likely the convention itself - will see 'a deluge' of announcements for future Star Wars projects, such as the alleged tie-in series to The High Republic. We are more than happy to report any updates on the possible future of Visions, so stay tuned.

All episodes of the first - and currently, only - season of Star Wars Visions is available to watch on Disney Plus.

I wonder if this is content left on the cutting room floor from season one? A fall release seems rather abrupt, I hope S2 is as good as season one. Star Wars manga has been around for quite some time. Finally seeing Star Wars anime is a dream come true. If the release date is pushed back, I'll be content with the art of Star Wars Visions expected to release later this year.
