    From WP:
"Unlike the crystals of other planets, the crystals of Ilum were limited to blue and green in color"

    Yet Starkiller's beam appears red?

However, if it is Ilum, that's huge. It's a very important planet in SW lore.

Is that canon? I thought there were some purple/pink crystals shown on Ilum in the original Clone Wars cartoon.

Great find! If this is true, I'd be very curious to see how this came to be. Are they using some kind of Rakatan technology? So many questions.....just 17 more days.....

It is not canon anymore. In the new canon natural kyber crystals are all blue. They can change color to green or less often to some other color when touched by force user.

Don't see how it could be Ilum; Ilum doesn't seem to have forests, and Starkiller Base doesn't seem to have as harsh of a climate.

Well that doesn't say they are blue like you suggested, it says they are colorless just like in wookiepedia.

"A lightsaber crystal is colorless until first attuned and connected to a Jedi -- at which times it glows either blue or green, or in some rare instances, another shade. From that point on, it retains that hue."

They say colorless, but they look blue to me in actual series ( Clone Wars and Rebels ).

Didn't know they had changed that...
They say the crystal is colorless until first attuned and connected to a Jedi, but when Ezra gets his they just showed it glowing blue... It would have been nice if they had shown it changing state...

    I agree.
They look blue in Clone Wars also.

So that ''colorless'' part I find strange.
