Interesting tangent - will Poe etc. be classed as fighting for the Resistance or the Republic now? Will they all come together and openly work as one now that the threat is very much real?

I loved the sound of the T-85s in Before the Awakening, that was a great little read.

Considering that the majority of their capital ships were destroyed in the Hosnian system, the Republic would be crazy not to join openly with the Resistance. Starfighters could be evacuated quickly, so maybe even some carried by those capital ships escaped. I loved Poe's black X-wing in TFA, so even slicker model in combination with 'one hell of a pilot'? - Bring it on! :D

I see more of a Nebulon-B with a shorter back section in the Resistance bombers than a B-Wing. Whatching at the Lego packaging back you can also see that one of the play functions is to release bombs from the bottom of the giant wing. I wonder if that part is intended to be entirely filled with them. Sure, it looks badass.

By the way, I'm more curious to see Snoke's star destroyer and Resistance/Republic capital ships.

So, there's a third iteration of the X-Wing? I didn't know. Any image?

No, it was just mentioned in a book Before the Awakening, like @The Stray Jedi said.

That would be awesome and most effective indeed!

I think with most of the republic’s capital, ruling council and star fleet blasted out of the sky by the glorious First Order, most of the forces and remaining politicians might recognize the FO as a threat and the Resistance as sound option for survival and well, resistance. So I’m damn sure the Resistance will get republic support.

Following that logic, I assume that some of the remaining parts of the official republic Starfleet will turn to General Organa and the now famous Commander Dameron to join the now open conflict with the FO.

This would explain a new supply on fighting ships for the Resistance, including these fine bomber/gunship types that does not only hold reminiscences to B-Wings, but also to my beloved Nebulon-B frigates as well. (The letter ‘B’ seems to b the connection!) ;)

Troops, equipment and ships coming over from the Republics remaining forces could also explain, why now fancy dressed Vice Admirals with lavendar hair like Holdo enter the story, possibly having their own agenda on mind in regards who’s in control at the end, and how to deal with the FO.

Or vice versa, the remaining Resistance forces will get drafted into the Republics fleet as martial law gets established, and Poe gets demoted to Captain for past transgressions.

Seeing an even more advanced X-Wing version like the T-85 would be great!

Does anybody notices that we maybe have a red- and a blue-squadron again when looking at the ‘bombers’ paint job from the teaser?

    Hi guys!

What do you think, will we see this time a fleet of FO Star Destroyers of the Resurgent-class or even bigger ones operating together, like in ESB?

I love the new, more functional design of the Finalizer! And will Snoke be on board an equivalent of the Executor?

MSW has been talking for quite a while about a Mega Star Destroyer with Snoke on board, which would be shaped like a stealth bomber.

Although the designs are out now for a while, I like to include them here, especially the TIE Silencer from Sienar Jaemus, for completeness:

Guys, any idea why Poe’s (?) X-Wing gets a strap-on propulsion system with tubes and wires when going against that First Order Dreadnought?

When looking at the walker from TFA and compare it with the one from TLJ, I get the feeling that Johnson was not happy with J.J.’s version and ordered a re-design. My guess is, if not for Johnson (or somebody in a similar position), then those “Tick” walkers might have been the attacking vehicles on Crait in TLJ.

Look at the main body and the prominent (artillery) cannon. Leaving the head aside, they’re almost the same, and possibly fulfill the same purpose.

I wonder if the Gorilla walkers are designed to allow better aiming of the top cannon, allowing the vehicle to lower it's front. Also, can the walker climb inclines more easily? Also, that leg design could be a countermeasure to being hog tied like the walkers on Hoth.

I think it's so they can crouch, which would prevent their legs from being tied up and tripped.

Is it a strap-on or is it Chopper just pushing the ship in some kind of Rebels tie back? :D

Well, this morning I found out, but wasn’t expecting Rian to give the answer so quick to me! ;)

The X-Wing, according to Rian Johnson, been specially modified by Resistance engineers, with a temporary accelerator pod affixed to the aft section. According to The Last Jedi director, the pod, when primed, increases Dameron’s speed, allowing him to outrun First Order cannon emplacements. It’s just a temporary boost and will burn out quickly but it’s enough to get beyond the barrage of turbo laser fire from First Order Star Destroyers such as the one depicted in the image.

What people do not seem to notice is that there were two walker models in TFA:
Indeed the one on the left in this image:
    And these walkers:
You can see the walker in the above image roaming a snowcap on Starkiller Base in the scene where Finn reveals his job at 'sanitation'. The walker in the below image can be seen during Hux's speech.

Edit: we also have a heavy scout walker
    [IMG]
Two movies and we already have more than twice the amount of ground vehicles for the First Order than we had for the Empire in ESB. But wud is that in the background? FO Tie Bombers. Awesome. This would mean that in two movies we already have four tie variants, twice the amount the Empire had in ESB :D
