In a new interview, Emmy nominee Stellan Skarsgård briefly discussed his time shooting the Star Wars: Andor series for Disney Plus. In addition to commending Tony Gilroy's writing, he also teased that his character will have 'different faces to show.' The series stars Diego Luna as the titular rebel spy first introduced in 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Speaking to Screen Rant, Skarsgård said the following:

This is not the first time Skarsgård has talked about the main writer, Tony Gilroy, or Rogue One. Speaking to The Daily Beast earlier this year, he praised Gilroy's work both in the film and now the show, saying about the former that 'it had much more atmosphere and seemed a little more mature.'

At the moment, little is known about the nature of his character, but with those last few words, the actor might be teasing a possible double-agent subplot. It also looks like he got to spend time with Diego Luna, so it's possible that he might be on the side of the Rebellion (for a portion of the series, at least).

We might know more about his allegiance once a trailer comes out. That is probably still a few months away though, since Lucasfilm's marketing efforts are currently focused on The Book of Boba Fett, which is debuting on December 29.

Andor is currently targeting a July-September 2022 release. The show wrapped production late summer 2021 after more than nine months of shooting all over England. It will have a 12-episode run. A new season is also rumored to start production next year.
