Hello, fellow Cantina revelers! I have a simple request. I am not a gamer, I will never be a gamer. But, I like to stay on top of my Star Wars canon.

So, can some kind soul give me cliff notes of game's story?

Thank you in advance for hours you've invested in this game. :D

You can watch the story on YouTube. I highly recommend that you do, the game does have TROS connections.

Yep, as @Andrew Waples says, youTube is your friend here...

I've not watched it myself as my daughter is only playing when she's with me for the weekend, so we're only on the 3rd planet.

i started watching it last night, but the cutscene version i chose was kind of a hack job. still could follow the story, though, and it's interesting so far.
i think my favorite thing so far has been the Second Sister, though she's basically Hela from Thor Ragnarok. XD

A friend of mine asked me do I still play video games? What do you mean do I still play video games? Get out of here, and go play with yourself. Video games, comic books, Star Wars is not just for kids get over yourself already go find a hobby.

    Major Spoilers!

I was most surprised that a Nightsister joins forces with a Jedi and now are friends:

    CE5C8407-D9EA-4463-AA40-CF842D7787DE.jpeg

Nightsisters practice the Dark Side, however they refuse to acknowledge like the Sith that it is dark. They are fringe cult of Bogan. (Book of Sith).

If Calen and Merrin grow stronger in a bond in a sequel, one could argue this is a True Balance of the Force, Light Sider and Nightsister. If I was Calen I would become Altisian Jedi so he can marry, have children, and train multiple apprentices.

The potential for Calen and Merrin to have a romance is strong because they both had major losses, were persecuted, and struggled in their survival.

Just in case you or anyone else does read through the text...

Might I suggest that this scene is definitely worth your time. It's not even really a cutscene, but I found it a really emotional reveal and interesting character study, that the wiki just cannot do justice.

Also, the final ten minutes or so are definitely worth watching, as well as really any encounter with Trilla.

I love how the Jedi Path is reinterpreted. That it is persistence that makes a Jedi, persistence on the Path of Light even if you stumble in darkness or fail.

    95F1FE03-F961-4D6E-AB75-0D74080D0477.jpeg

This makes the Jedi Way more accessable and enjoyable; that you can fail, but if your heart it determined to endure in the Light even after tasting darkness, you remain a Jedi. This is a wonderful addition to canon! I know Yoda in TLJ mentions this, “failure, the greatest teacher that is.” But Fallen Order really flushes it out.

I think that the story of this game was pretty fantastic! Really looking to a potential sequel, as I really enjoyed the characters in this.

I really enjoyed going on Cal Kestis’s journey. They managed to make Cal’s character, story, and relationship with BD-1 all feel real and fresh. I was worried about him being an Ezra/Kanan clone, but he’s not; he’s his own character with his own struggles and trials. I’m really glad that he made it and that we’ll be able to have more adventures with him and BD-1. In the sequel, I want to see him face more challenges and continue to prevent the Empire from obtaining any Force/Jedi relics, while maybe becoming something of a vigilante protector to those in need.

Just as Cal was a great protagonist, the Second Sister was a great villain. She was a very threatening villain and I enjoyed the parallels between her and Kylo Ren. (And the parallels between Cere and Luke Skywalker in TLJ.) While I predicted that she was Cere’s former padawan from the moment Cere mentioned having one, that didn’t make her story any less compelling. Her voice had a nice quality to it that I don’t think we’ve really heard from any Star Wars villains. She also had a great theme that made the boss fights more fun. I kinda wish she had a bigger presence throughout the game however.

Merrin was definitely my favorite new character besides Cal and Trilla. Now, I’m not much of a shipper but I would definitely like to see a relationship between her and Cal in the future. I loved her sense of humor and seeing her mess with Greez were some of my favorite moments from the game. Not to mention the fact that she’s a really fresh character. Other than a handful of Clone Wars episodes, we haven’t seen too much of the Nightsisters so it’s cool to have a new major character be one.

I only wish Trilla could’ve survived and I think Cere should’ve died when Vader threw her off the platform. I also hope to see more customization options for Cal in future DLC or sequels as he didn’t have much variety or choice in his outfits and ponchos.

Also, has anyone else had trouble finding the Haxion Brood bounty hunters? I know they’re supposed to spawn randomly, but I’ve visited every part of each planet several times and haven’t run into a single one. There’s supposed to be a fix to this bug soon, but I’m curious to see if anyone here has faced the same problem. It’s one of the last things I need to do to get every trophy and achievement for this game!

Or at least when she confronted Vader again in the hallway.

I think Cere facing Vader using the light side and allowing Cal to escape could've been the perfect conclusion to her character arc, while Trilla had so much more to tell. But oh well, c'est la vie.

I've definitely been under the impression that Bogano and Zeffo were named after their respective dominant environments: bogs and zephyr (wind).

Didn't occur to me until yesterday that Bogano was almost certainly a reference to the Bogan. (Which seems so obvious now!) Wonder if we'll get an Ashla world in JFO II?

Damn, that was pretty sad story overall, but also a coming of age story typical for SW, about life giving you lemons.
I knew where the Cal's flashbacks headed after experiencing few of them... he survived Order 66 and saw execution of his master, holding on half of his lightsaber. That was sad, but Trilla's story was pretty heartbreaking.
Wintessing how she was hiding with the younglings, whom were afraid and definitely killed offscreen and her turning Inquisitor in the process.
That was pretty powerful, with her master betraying her and all we know from the game and other sources like Darth Vader comic.
Hell, Inquisitors were this twisted villains in Rebels at first, but they are really broken, tortured and mutilated Jedi (not dissimilar to Anakin/Vader).
And Trilla's end? Wow! I have never thought that I will be this moved by a villain in Fallen Order, when first popping the game into PS4.
It was one of the most powerful stories in the new canon in my opinion, pretty simmilar to Ben Solo in it's tragedy.

I know I asked this back in November, but I didn't have time to delve into it until now. And, wow... that was really cool. Almost every character's story was worth telling, the lighsaber fights were cool, Vader was scary and mythological additions could spawn further stories.

I really regret not being a gamer since experiencing the story by yourself must be wonderful, but still...

Also, another great Jedi/droid friendship. :)

    "Real life"? Psh, overrated.

Thanks for this thread. I'm not a gamer either. I enjoyed the Battlefront 2 walk-throughs though. I'll check these out too.

I just finished watching a 100% play-through, and I loved it. I'll definitely read the upcoming novel and watch Jedi: Survivor the same way. I'm looking forward to seeing some of these characters cross over into other stories. It would just be crazy NOT to do so!
