I noticed a lot of older fans hanging out around here. I'm wondering if any of you guys/girls have tried SWMUD, a Star Wars mod of an old MUD game. You can check it out at http://swmud.org/

If you're unaware of MUDs, basically they're text-only sandbox RPGs. No graphics, no controls, only text and typing. The disadvantages are obvious, but the advantage is that you get a much bigger and more detailed game than anything with pretty models or sprites could ever give you, and SWMUD is no exception.

You start by creating your character, including race, gender, and name. You're then thrust into a training academy, where a hologram of C-3PO functions as your instructor. After you graduate, the universe is yours to explore.

If you're at all interested and haven't heard of it before, check it out. There's so much to do in this game, and if you're okay with reading, then you'll fall right into this expansive world.
