Tbf, I think Krrsantan's appearance is a great way to handle this.

It's definitely treated as a sort of reveal to the audience, but in an accessible way that people can relate to regardless of background.

For comics fans... WHOA. The big boy is here, and he's gonna mean business.

For other fans... WHOA. That big boy looks like Chewie, but meaner. I bet he's gonna mean business.

The same general idea is conveyed, but it plays nice with canon and lets fans' investment pay off without alienating other viewers.

I agree BUT we have to consider the time line that's involved with this story.

I suspect the 'galaxy far, far, away' is like our own when it comes to the "what have you done lately?" celebrity-status meter. If my calculations are correct, Boba reappearance in the 'civilized' world takes place five years after he fell in the sarlacc pit and was presumed dead. Not only is that a long time, the circumstances of his survival means he's not going to be the same badass bounty hunter of his younger years.

    THIS! ^^^^^ :) :) :)

    AND THIS! ^^^^^ :) :) :)

C-3PO's informative statement just dawned on me.........

So true what you said. Five years IS a long time. Boba is no droid. Being physical, after five years without food, water and proper oxygen, being saturated in toxic stomach acid equals serious corrosion and malnourishment. I understand why he wouldn't just bounce back to his former badassery over night.

The reason is because this is the way. (boba fett)

There is no way Boba could have spent 5 years inside the Sarlaac.
For what we've seen on TBOBF episode 1, he escaped pretty quickly.
I prefer rather think he spent his time in the tuskens community, healing and learning their codes.
The flashbacks may erase the numbers of years he spent with them.

What makes you think he actually escaped quickly. Something I must have missed.

If I had to guess, I would say he was in for a few days at most. The sail barge isn't smoldering but it doesn't look picked over by the Jawas.

The Jawas drop by to scavenge the wreckage soon after Boba gets out of the pit. There'd be no reason for them to be there 5 years or even a year later. They would have stripped what remained of the sail barge long ago. And the Tuskens would have had no reason to be looking around a years old debris pile on their doorstep either.

I can't say that I agree or disagree. Five years with no food and water does push my imagination to perhaps unrealistic conclusions. As @LadyMusashi pointed out once that we are in fact dealing with fantasy over science here. Good observation concerning the Jawas though.

    Or perhaps - and more reasonable - something I have over-thought :D
What i've seen in TBOBF episode 1 does not sound to me as depicting "a long enclosure" inside the Saarlac belly (or stomach). How could I express it better? I have no real "solid proof" to reinforce what I say. It's just "my opinion".
Nonetheless, I subscribe to what has been said above, concerning Jawas, Tusken and the barge not smoldering.

Yea I totally get you. We're merely speculating but you both @Martoto gave food for thought. When I think about it, as far as the episode presentation is concerned, IMO it seems like five years is a little too long for either of the two situations. Too long in the pit. Too long with the Tuskens. If I HAD to choose, I'd go with the Tuskens. Other than that this feels like one of those speculation from hell catch 22s.

I assume his time inside the Sarlaac was a single afternoon. I thought it was made pretty clear that the vast majority of the time between BF being swallowed by the Sarlaac and his appearance in The Mandalorian (5 years later) was spent with the tribe of Tusken Raiders.

While we got a short, 'highlight' reel of flashbacks, the audience is given many clues that he was with them for YEARS. The biggest example of the passing of time was shown in Ep.2 where we discover that Boba has learned enough of the Tusken language to understand them as well as communicate his own messages back to them through the use of a make-shift sign language he created between them.

I too thought that his time within the Sarlacc must have been fairly brief. When we see him awaken, it seemed like the first time he was waking up in there, and so he was only inside for however long he was unconscious.
In itself, I kinda agree that five years seemed like a bit too long with the Tuskens. But on the other hand, there isn't really anything to suggest that it wasn't the case. And we haven't seen anything else that Boba was doing in the flashbacks, so those five years must've all been spent with the Tuskens then. Or else, perhaps after the Tuskens were wiped out, Boba simply spent some time wandering through the deserts alone before he found Fennec, and so it may not have quite been five years with the Tuskens, but still a long time either way.

Outstanding episode. It reminds us that the Hutts are a multi headed crime family which always chase up their enemies, and Wookiees are not only ferocious but intelligent.
