That chapter was too short! Another long week ahead. I would definitely bing this series... It was cool to see Danny Trejo of Machete fame, as the new Rancor keeper. This episode was definitely directed by Robert Rodriguez. I think Fett made a major mistake letting BK go. He should have recruited him. I guess we'll see him again in the OB1 series. Who would hire BK now, since he failed to kill Fett? These episodes are a slow burn, but I think something great is definitely on the horizon. The end credit art is always amazing!

I have to be sincere. Still not very impressed.

Again a couple of good things, Black Krrsantan and the Rancor, surrounded by western vibes.
But quite a "meh" chapter. RR has the great ability to make all look cheap and weak, like sets and acting guidance.
The beginning was boring, as some of the dialogs of supporting characters. Is like they are playing in a theater. Some are a little embarrassing.

The new gang family with colorful bikes and bad music? Not sold.

All seems explained rushed and poor worked and some set pieces seems randomly introduced. Seems quite boring how one of the coolest movie characters ever is becoming a Daimyo.

Still 4 episodes to "open" the story a little bit.
Hope the Pykes has something more interesting but I have the feeling we will never leave the boring Mos Espa.

Enjoyed it. The fate of the Tusken village is truly a tragedy.

Agree that the punk swoop gang Boba has now looks really out of place, but I guess that's the point. I do like their look and they seem like they'll be a help to Boba. Mos Espa Tatooine is a place like anywhere else, there's all kinds of people. I just think they're definitely going to get hurt when the big boys come to town. Like The Pykes. I guess we will see what they're made of.

Overall I enjoyed it. I am not a fan of RR as a director but I'll leave that one there. The Tusken village being wiped out was sad but I'm ok with moving the story along. For Fett to tell Shand that her threat "choose your next words carefully if you want to keep breathing" towards Majordomo/the Mayor's representative was a little "heavy handed" was way out of Fett's character as far as I'm concerned. Sometimes Disney needs to just get the hell out of the way for a second or two. I enjoyed BK in action. I'm pretty sure he'll be back for a second go round. The Rancor was definitely cool. Yes. the speeder bike gang. Hmmmm. They and their beautiful shiny bikes looked like characters that could have been in The Fifth Element that we're copied and pasted onto a Mos Eisley back round. The episode was way too short IMO. Looks like the Pike Syndicate will be our main antagonists.

Though I'm grateful, I'm kind of ready to be done with this series so I can clap my hands and nod my head right quick and say "NEXT"!

Yay, Boba gets a pet(s)! "I've ridden beasts ten times its size"...I See What You Did There, Boba. I hope we get a scene in every episode of Boba talking baby talk to the rancor and rubbing its ears. <3 (I still feel like it's going to get connected to the Bad Batch rancor somehow. Child? Cousin? Sister?)

(Does the biker gang count as pets? This is the Star Wars version of steampunk, or...? It was nice to see Sophie Thatcher but I wish she'd have had a role rather than a stereotype to fill.) I'm kind of bummed if they replace the Gamorrean guards.

Fun to see Peli Motto. The surprise guest stars were fun, but tbh it's getting a little bit old...

I think I was expecting Mando-level thoughtful content from this show. I just don't think it's going to have that without Dave Filoni writing. I just need to lower my expectations...this is going to be '80s Saturday-morning cartoon content (not CW or Rebels, etc.), just episodic fun with surface-level Rodriguez-style action sequences. I can live with that, because here we have new Star Wars content, and for someone like me who lived through the Dry Years, this all still doesn't seem quite real. Gotta pinch myself sometimes.

As I suspected, there was indeed something unsavoury about that major. Also as I suspected, something bad did indeed happen to Boba's tribe and that's why he's no longer with them. :(

Great episode. Probably my favourite one yet. Quite a few twists and turns. The fight with Black Krrsantan was great stuff too.

Looking forward now to seeing Boba unleash vengeance on that sleazy mayor and those slimeball Pykes. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of the Twins either.

I think I just have to admit that small screen live-action Star Wars isn't for me.

Another good episode. At this point I think it's safe to assume the people who haven't liked the series so far aren't gonna like it. Typically when this happens that group will tend to dwell on everything they don't like and I might back out of discussing b/c it becomes a negative circle. Star Wars has always been campy. It's part of the charm. It's not There Will Be Blood.

I assume there's going to be another season of this series. There's a lot of world building going on so a lot of the set up here feels like Mando season 1. I like how we're moving up the food chain here to learn about the organized crime syndicates. Also, this is important because the casual viewer doesn't know who the Pykes are before this series.

The weakest point was the chase scene. It was just a little too slow. To be fair I felt the same way about the scene in Solo. I think it's difficult thing to convey b/c we're so accustom to cars.
I'm not sure what this means? It's basically the same writing team. Do you appearances by other established characters?

They better show Fett destroying that biker gang in the next episode, that's all I'm saying.

Danny Trejo is a must for RR project and he was great as rancor keeper, who would have thought that he would fit right into GFFA. But, poor baby rancor is depressed, Boba is going to hug him and pet him and squeeze him and call him George. :D

War with the Pykes! LET'S GO!!!

Dave Filoni is not as involved in the writing, according to the credits. The issue is that this is less about who Boba is than what he's doing. Yes, his circumstances are changing his perspective, but we are not watching character transformation here. Not a hero's journey, not a mythopoetic story. Nothing wrong with a different kind of storytelling, if that's what you're expecting. It's not what I was expecting.

Gives me a big chuckle hearing "mate" said by actors who would use it in real life. Morrison (Kiwi/Maori) used it in chapter 1 with the Tusken pet he knocked out "No hard feelings mate." And we heard it here with the English actor Jordan Bolger in Fett's biker gang "Don't be sorry mate."

Now this is one of the funniest lines I've read yet since being a member here. Applause. Too good m'Lady.
Was it just me but did I feel like as Boba was petting his head, the rancor was going to swing it's head around and chomp Boba in half.

I guess I don't see a difference there. This is still mostly a Jon Favreau project and Filoni is chipping in on an episode or two for writing/directing while he's a creative partner on the rest.
I didn't really have any expectations. And I disagree about the transformation. Probably a larger question, but I do notice that not meeting story expectation is a common complaint these days. This observation isn't directed at @Choose Light specifically, but good stories shouldn't have to be predictable.

I'm currently watching The Last Kingdom and it's kind of mediocre in that regard. Every story beat is heavily foreshadowed and there's very little surprise. We shouldn't be slaves to our expectations. Good story tellers can tell us something new at the same time borrow from what we already know.

The Easter Eggs in this episode were lovely: Peli Motto and her droids, the witches of Datomir being mentioned... what else?

I don't see how anyone would not see this as a story about Boba Fett being reborn as something else other than just a clone of his father. It surely is a transformation. You don't even need to have seen any other Star Wars material to glean that. The guy is haunted by dreams of picking up where the father he adored left off. The ordeal of the pit has brought him low and captivity with a different culture has shown him new ways. And taught him to appreciate family without blood ties. Prior to this he was just a bounty hunter. Just another bounty hunter.

Also, must be mentioned: "Keep an eye on them". :D

It must be a Mando thing, Boba Fett keeps adopting children, now he has a teenage Vespa gang of Tatooine in his employ.
