This was a strong episode, I find; focused, and with plot progression and setting up the second half of the season. This is where the show begins!

    Solid 8/10.

It was fun to see so much of the monestary, and the droids were brilliant (although people sure do treat droids like poodoo in the SW universe :( ). It was also nice to get some bonding moments and motivation insights into Fennec & Fett, and their relationship, and I dig that Boba is now out to put together a RPG party crew; this is going to get interesting. I wonder who'll join? It seems like Black Karrsantan is supposed to join, eventually, and I assume one or more TESB bounty hunters will (probably Bossk so that we can have som Bossk vs. Karrsantan animosity running through); but who might Fennec be talking about? Surely not The Bad Batch!?!?! Perhaps she has worked for the Crimson Dawn or the Black Sun in the past? We'll see...

    I like TBoBF, me!

Clue One: The Mandalorian theme music that followed. Clue Two: Bryce Dallas Howard is directing the next episode (note: she directed Bo-Katan and Nite Owl's introduction to live-action.)

I expect we'll get a whole bunch of Mandalorians coming to a fellow Mandalorian's aid. We'll also learn what's been going on with Din and Bo-Katan since Mando 2's season finale.

I know I should be appreciative Disney is giving us new Star Wars content, but I cannot get into this show. I do not want to spoil the episode as so many here enjoyed it, but personally I felt this was the least impressive of the four. I’m sorry to admit it, but that’s just how I feel.
    On the positive side:
-I’m glad they finally revealed motivation for Boba Fett becoming a crime boss. The answer wasn’t strong, but I’m glad they addressed it.
    - Fennick Shand was actually a part of this show. She exists primarily as an accessory piece for the forward actions of a male character, (which bothers me a bit,) but at least she felt “important” unlike past episodes.
    - the Saarlac scene. I’m glad they didn’t recon that giant “beak” which I was half expecting, considering Disney’s refusal to adhere to George Lucas’s vision, post 1997.

But everything else… I really did not enjoy. I don’t mean this in a mean way.
The episode spends a lot of time with Boba Fett saying “I need my armor! I need my armor!” And instantly…. He has his armor.
The twi-lek bar lady gives a nice (and long) speech to the black wookiee and……. Oh well, he didn’t listen to her anyways.
We spent three entire episodes setting the threat of the speeder bike gang and…..… pew! Pew! Pew! Pew! They’re all gone.
The Fennick Shand operation scene (which reminded me of Battle Angel) was… interesting, but ultimately made me think “yes, we already know what happened to her.”

Maybe if this episode was 30 minutes long I would have liked it more, but it really did make me check the clock frequently. It felt like filler before the action starts in (hopefully) episode 5.

Also, there are only 3 episodes remaining and I have yet to see a clear idea of Boba Fett’s plan to stop the Pykes. Who does he have on his side? Some biker kids, a wookiee, gammorean guards, Fennick, the Mandalorian (I’m just assuming he’s coming back), a baby rancor, and all the people around the dinner table? Half these entities should at least wear some chest coverings if they’re going off to battle, because I hear those Pykes are pretty darn ruthless…

Ah. Yeah, I too was confused about why Krrsantan went and attacked them for (seemingly) no reason.

I don't have much else to add, but regardless, good episode. Again I just love the design of Jabba's palace. Especially memorable is that final shot of Boba and Fennec standing on the balcony against the cloudy evening Tatooine sky.

Oh, and of course Boba ruthlessly gunning down that speeder gang was a suitably gratifying moment. :D

Assuming they see Boba as a fellow Mandalorian. Which they might and I would enjoy. IIRC though, Boba (through being Jango's son) identifies with Mando's Mandolorian culture, which is considered an off-shoot/cult compared to Bo-Katan and the rest of the Mandalorian's we've met in the animated show. That's not to say that Bo-Katan and others won't help, but I imagine it would be something more akin to a Quid Pro Quo than helping a countryman out.

That would be very nice to know!

    They're neutral.

I'm pretty sure they were setting up Episode 5 to be hunting for help and consolidating allies. They set up that Boba has enough money to hire help right at the very end.

Because they've just been confirmed as the Big Bad one episode ago. (Not a counterpoint, just a clarification.) As for Boba's plan, I imagine we'll consolidate allies in Episode 5, plan everything out for most of Episode 6 until things inevitably go awry, and then Episode 7 will be all-out war. Not unlike the final two episodes of Mandalorian Season 2. But I could very well be wrong. This is just something we're going to have to wait and see about is my point.

I hear ya. For the first half of the episode I was drifting into "meh" territory until Boba rescued his baby, Slave-1.

I LOVED THAT! As it was playing out I was saying to myself, "No, no, no...BK don't listen to her!!!" and spontaneously cheered out loud when he ignored her and tore off the guy's arm!!! :) :) :)

Again, I loved that! It was my favorite scene in the whole episode. Boba being badass, baby!!!

I agree. The whole cyber-punk thing doesn't really ring true (in my mind) with Star Wars. The music -- which I usually love -- also seemed out-of-place. I would have liked to have seen it pay homage to ROTS's 'birth of Darth Vader' scene.

So is a badass army of Mandalorians!!! :)

Usually I’d start from good to bad but let’s start with the bad.

    Bad:

This episode was a major improvement from the previous. I’d have to say the one thing that took me out of the immersion for episode 4 is this script their sticking too. The mod shop potion of the episode felt… off. The music didn’t make me feel anyone short of cringe. This scene is should and is suppose to be serious! We are watching a severely injured Fennec Shand getting the modifications she needed to survive. I would have expected something more serious. I felt very unsettled by this scene it didn’t feel right. The actors they chose as well looked like something out of a 90’s Back to the Future again like episode 3, as well with the color scheme battling the sands. Most of the talking script in this episode felt extremely off for my taste. Most of the Twi’leks with head coverings and Jewelry trinkets on the top of their head covered their long lekku giving the to much of a human appearance.

Overall I’m still enjoying this serious.

The good thing about this episode is it’s setting up for something incredible. The overall characters that are getting more scene times makes me so, so, so, damn happy. Krrrsantan got an amazing scene showing the brutal savage nature of himself and the hate he has for Trandoshan. Seeing Fennec and Boba together team up and respect one another was an amazing moment.

Yes, that was of course my first thought, but why whould Fennec hint to using the Mandoverse characters as if Boba didn't know Mando already?

The bacta tank treatment is apparently compete but there's probably one more flashback that shows Boba knowing about Cobb Vanth and finding Din Djarin with his armor

I know you knew, I was attempting to being cute. ;)

Regarding your question, I think Boba was looking at Din as 'a debt repaid,' while Fennec is aware that he now possesses the Dark Saber and what it means when it comes to soliciting the aid of an army.

I wonder if Fennec will mention how she met up with Boba again after the Mandalorian s2 finale when he randomly left and she stayed to help Din and team. It's not really needed but I'm curious

Good question. I'm thinking Boba's need for 'muscle' could prompt Fennec to explain to Boba what happened with the Mandalorians beyond baby Grogu successfully getting rescued.

I hope not. The flashbacks showed us how he survived and his relationship to Fennec. Those are essential for this story. How he figured out where his armor was seems unnecessarily granular and a waste of time (since the payoff happened in Mando). It's time for this story to concentrate on moving forward.

He mentions a gotra that double crossed him when talking to fennec

Anyone have an idea who he’s referring to here?

    Another enjoyable episode.

Didn't really have a problem with anything related to the 'Mods' (despite noticing the very obvious references to British 60's mod culture in the gang - I'd not picked up on them being called 'Mods' on BoBF before). We've seen quite a lot of 'modified' characters in the comics, and the more I think about it, the more this series feels like watching a comic. The structure and the pacing feels more like a comic, the references and characters also... it all feels far more entrenched in the current, wider, lesser know corners of the Star Wars universe than Mando did. And, scenes like Slave 1 ripping through the biker gang look right out of a centre page spread.

The Exposition of Fett lines up with my thoughts on his character arc, so that's comforting.

Stop motion style animation on the Choppy McChopChop kitchen droid always makes me smile.

BK attacking the Trandoshan made sense to me off the bat, though I couldn't tell you where I knew the back story of the two species from... and hey, BK ripping his arm off is okay, because Trandoshan limbs grow back! Glad we got more BK and he's now on the Posse.

I am hoping Boba himself kicks it up a notch now his Bacta treatment is 'complete', and I'm interested to see who the hired guns will be.

The droid saying he is now fully restored is basically saying that’s the end of the flashbacks now, everything important has been told, so we’ll have 3 full episodes showing boba assemble his army against the pykes

Mando and who else is the question isn’t it

Spending money on bounty hunters doesn’t seem like that’s bobas way anymore or is he just going to assemble the galaxy’s best bounty hunters available?

    Can’t wait to find out
