Another dumb rule like having no love like Jedi. Another cult ending. The death of their guild.

Both times I watched I got the impression the "three of us" included Din, but damn you now I'll have to go back and watch it AGAIN! :D

If there were three before Din got there, the third person was smart enough not to do any heavy lifting. The forge wasn't set up until the other "muscle" arrived. :p

Well said! Din’s response to his excommunication reemphasizes that his love for Grogu — not growing doubts about his clan — was solely responsible for him breaking his creed.

And now? Din’s clan left him, not the other way around. I may be wrong but I took the armorer’s response to his plea for a second chance to mean there is no atonement — in other words, Mando 3 begins with Din being a free man.

That could be the motto of all Star Wars fans. I would maybe just change "hoping that" to "it better look as good..etc" ;)

The paradox or irony if you like is that the Death Watch's notions of honor would probably encourage or at least extend to Din to be willing to kill the Armorer or any of his Mandalorian brothers and sisters in order to protect his foundling.

Funny thing is that when Din admitted to removing his helmet for someone, I thought that was going to mean he would be instructed to remove it then and there. Permanently. Didn't they say in S1 that if you remove it for anyone you can't put it back on again? I guess they were meaning you can't just put it back on again and still call yourself Mandalorian. Maybe they even went that far with the definition in the first series and I just don't remember.

Right? I was like, surely he's gonna try to hide that or something. I'm sure security is more calibrated toward blasters and vibroweapons anyway. But no, homeboy just threw it in the box.

As someone who has, uh, been on a plane before, I had a concern.

now that you mention it, what was the point of that scene then - Star Tours droid challenges him, he puts everything in the crate and retrieves it all at the end of the flight. it doesn't actually add anything to show that sequence...

...or did we miss something? Din's not used the darksaber since then, so is he going to find someone's switched it for a dud? :D

I just knew that either the saber or the the whole box would end up missing. I'm saying to myself, "please tell me dude ain't that damm dumb". Thankfully it didn't turn out to be an issue in the story. He already has plenty of big fish to fry to then have the darksaber end up stolen from his check in luggage of all places.

Wonder what the name of his new ship will be?

I thought the point was just comic relief. After all the drama with the darksaber duel and getting booted as an apostate, we had the standard comic trope of endlessly unloading weapons, and then the irony of the potential leader of Mandalore having to take mundane public transport, this deadly bounty hunter having to put up with day-to-day delays and annoyances like you and me.

My opinion is there are 3 plus Din. You know, cause they always can keep the one missing in the scene for future secret character involvements and appearances.

Also I think they only refer to Nevarro clan. Because we still have Bo-Katan and followers and I think there are other clans out there, but I don't know all the Mandalore history.
These ones are mentioned in Wookieepedia: Clan Awaud, Clan Eldar, Clan Kryze, Clan Rook, Clan Saxon, Clan Vizsla and Clan Mudhorn.

I think it was meant to show the burden that Din now has without the Razorcrest. He has to travel publicly, at public travel's pace, and without his weapons.

Makes the N1 seem all the more necessary.

And yeah, as @Choose Light mentioned, the comic relief comes into play, too.

That scene was created to add tension, nothing more nothing less ;) and it shows how good of a director BDH is.

I think @cawatrooper nailed it. This episode was about reclamation: repairing what was lost or broken. Something Din lost with his ship’s destruction was his autonomy – the freedom to move about the galaxy unhindered. Showcasing how impacted, inconvenienced and at the mercy of others he was without his own ship, seems like the main point of the scene.

Having him later be detained by New Republic patrol, only to give them the slip because of this new ship, seems like closing that loop. Before - after. What was lost has been restored.

I'm curious if Din takes off his helmet permanently (besides well for religious reasons bs) I don't think they get Pedro Pascal to come back otherwise just to voice him for this.

Perfectly directed. Very Lucas-esque shot choices focusing on mid shots which showed off sets and environments. This is what the sequel trilogy lacked!

I agree with first part. Perfectly directed.
But sorry, I completly disagree with the second part. ST is full of those shots you mention. If ST has something, story a part (which I also liked it), is a supercompetent visual aspect and brilliant camera works. JJ camera work in TFA is sublime and very Lucas-esque.

Still trying to process that the Armorer just canceled Din.

But after all the fuss in past seasons over people wearing the armor "unworthily," the Armorer didn't ask for his beskar back, or the darksaber.

There’s only three of them left but when the armorer learns Din violated the creed, it didn’t matter — He’s out. I guess Bo-Karan was right when she called the Watch a cult. :)
