Beware spoilers if you haven't seen it.

It's an ok for me. Not bad, not spectacular.
Some improvements from RR but nothing special.
Definetly Cad Bane and the Rancor elevates the level of the chapter.
Cause some points, just for me, are quite weak. Like Boba's recruit: modified and free town are so cheesy and still don't buy that modified controlled part of Mos Espa. The mayor is a very meh character and the credits scene is nothing to have goosebumps.
Didn't expect to already know Grogu's decision but it was good.
Boba Fett is better with helmet on as we see here.
The fight with Boba and Mando is good although I don't really like much those giant droids.
Still don't get some of poorly dialogs and decisions during shot scenes.
    As i said, it's ok.

Now give me Obi-Wan or Andor footage and keep SW rolling.

Felt uneven. Some great stuff like the Mando-Grogu reunion…the rancor gone wild scenes … and the Boba Fett vs Cad Bane face off. But much of the fight felt like a low-budget TV fight instead of a feature film spectacular (Yeah, I know, I know, it IS a TV show.). The big city of Mos Espa felt empty (again.)

That said, live-action SW rocks. When it nails it, it’s as good — or even better — than the feature films, and when it doesn’t, it’s still light years better than animation.

Just let Filoni/Bryce run the damn thing. Overall, much like the whole of the show - I'm left with mixed feelings. Cad Bane seemed even more menacing, but now I'm sad that's it for his live action stuff (potentially?). I couldn't see what threat the droids even posed, as they didn't kill a single person. I didn't really need to see the Rancor become King Kong momentarily. I had forgotten about it though, so I'm glad it could play its part. Grogu/Din reunion was emotional. Boba and Din teaming up and going full Mandalorian will always be magical. The credits scene was a bit lackluster, but that's more me hoping that it would be the Kenobi trailer.

What an odd show, I'm glad it happened and it was only strengthened by the detour into Mando S2.5. The universe and characters are fluid, I'm glad they crossover and intersect. The show became necessary because of it's evolution into Mando S2.5

The writing seems good, implementation not so much. Seems slower than it should be and a bit low budget on the floating cars and the colorful speeder things are maybe for some other show. Music is not even right.

You saved me from typing it out. Agree with you I do.

I think Mando will eventually convince Grogu to go back to Luke because the Force will be his way to survive.
    --- Double Post Merged, Feb 9, 2022 ---
I am good with Boba going into retirement leading Tatoine and maybe some cameo on other shows. The director/writer of this does not seem a fit for SW.
    --- Double Post Merged, Feb 9, 2022 ---
I prefer a ship where they can interact. Star fighter is cool but Mando needs a freighter/Gunboat that he can park it on. =). Seems,Ike a bounty Hunter would need cargo space.

My low expectations were met, so there's that...

Got to see Boba riding the rancor--that was on my finale checklist. Rancors are more fun in the wild than stuck in a pit, until they do the King King thing. *sigh* But Grogu and the rancor having a little snooze together was great. Also Din getting his head stuck in its mouth. Why didn't it just bite his head off?

Din dropped the darksaber when he fell fighting the droid, but I guess like in Mando ch. 14 with the jetpack, he just picked it up again when the director wasn't looking.

Another thing on my checklist was a Bane-Boba showdown. I liked the symbolism of the gaffi stick/belonging to a tribe as what won the duel for Boba. Generally the RR action style is snooze-inducing for me, but I will say I like it when he pulls out Rage Boba.

So...it really was just the Pykes behind everything? No big bads?

I kept waiting for Fennec to do something shady, but she really was loyal the whole way through despite disagreeing with Boba on a few things.

I was kind of hoping for some kind of hint about return of Tusken warrior queen, but no go.

So Dad and baby are together again! I didn't like the decision for their reunion to come in the middle of an action scene and given about 30 seconds of time (especially considering how long we had to spend watching the droideka wannabes be almost scary). We spent all of season 2 of Mando wondering how they were going to cope being parted and then he took off his helmet so he could they could bond because he'd be gone like, forever, and...oh here, he's back! Anyway, I guess we will see how Grogu fared with Luke in Mando season 3.

I'm going to run the campaign for Jo as the new deputy of Freetown! Assuming Marshal Vanth finishes well in his bacta/mod treatment. Does this mean season 2, BTW, or the Book of Cobb Vanth?

Anyway, my favorite moment was by far when Grogu kept banging on the glass in his bubble, and turns out he is still a speed junkie like Dad.

This show was...something else. Some of the best Star Wars in years, and also some of the not-best. Very uneven. Even today I was like, "What is this that I am watching here?"

Live-action SW TV is going to take some time to develop, I guess, and Filoni and Favreau just seem to have caught lightning in a bottle with Mando. I'm glad there's that to build on.

EDIT: The Boba theme using his actual name is pretty darn cool.

Hm... I'm surprised to see all the pissy feelings for this one, but ok.

Great episode, full of fun, lore, and spectacle. A bit crowded, but Rodriguez pulled it off and let everyone have their moment. And for once, the action was fun and served the story, which is very refreshing. It didn't hit me in the heart as much as Ep.6, but Ep. 7 was a solid 10/10 for me!

Yep, I saw that too. I know are minor details but I like when directors are aware of those little details and give subtle solutions like just a frame or a minor dialog. It's says a lot. We saw on the floor and they didn't?

By the Force, are we, Star Wars fans, spoiled! We find something to complain even about the best of things.

That was great last episode! Yes, it deserved more build up before, but the episode itself was great. The classic build up, when they are losing and all looks lost, unexpected help and hope, but no, tables turned again, and again and again. King Kong reference was spectacular. Baby Yoda too, first humorous encounter with the droid, then rancor soothing. Lovely. I am glad all the characters got a moment to shine, even the sleazy majordomo.

Boba Fett and Din fighting back to back was fantastic. The action in general was great. Finally, the rancor riding, take that, Pykes! The showdown with Cad Bane was not what I expected, but I LOVED that Boba won with the gafii stick (poetic cinema). I like the idea of Boba retiring and leading a new life. If Star Wars teaches you anything, it's that no one is beyond redemption and that even heroes do terrible things.

I admit, I felt the pain when rancor was throwing Din around like a rag doll. The reunion with Grogu brought tears to my eyes. Actually several things did in this episode. But, also several things made me laugh. I am glad Cobb Vanth is alive and soon to be modified, lol. I liked the character from the get-go in The Aftermath series, Timothy Oliphant gave him real life.

I have to watch the episode once again to digest everything and maybe I'll write more, but I loved the episode. The entire show needed another episode or two in the present, I liked it, didn't love it like Mando but, still, I have positive impressions. Still, great last episode and the show ended on high note. I can't wait for Kenobi and Mando Season 3. Give me more live action TV shows!

Aren't we just. The fans are draining the fun right out of Star Wars... :(

Yup! It's as if people aren't awere that they're watching Star Wars. OF COURSE they did the King Kong homage thing - this is what SW does! (Also, funny how nobody complains about the dozens of Clint Eastwood/Man With No Name ripoffs, but the big creature can't reference KK?)

It wasn't what I expected at all (bar the shooting and stuff) but I thoroughly enjoyed that. Left me wanting more though.

Wildly uneven. Fun, and spot-on at times, but a lot of it just seemed... flaccid.

Am I talking about this episode, or the whole series? Erm... yes.

Bottom line, I'm glad they made BoBF, but I feel like a lot of it was undercooked. And has they not woven Mando Season 2.5 into it, I don't think I'd have had much emotional connection to the show. Somebody above mentioned Favreau and Filoni having caught lightning in a bottle with Mando, and that may be true. They're going to be hard pressed to come up with anything that rises to the level of Din and Grogu going forward. Boba definitely wasn't it.

And yet, there was a lot of fun stuff in there, even if it was lacking a satisfying emotional through-line tying it all together. The expected Fett-Bane showdown was well done, of course, as was the equally expected arrival of Fett astride the rancor. And the mass ambush of Fett's crew worked well - now we know how many trandoshans it takes to take down an enraged wookiee: ALL of 'em!

I even got a grin out of the Peli/Pasquesi flirtation. But inevitably, it was the big reunion between Mando and the kid that made the episode for me. And therein lies the problem. Can Favreau and Filoni come up with more show ideas that are as compelling as Din and Grogu? Because those two obviously can't carry all of the SW shows going forward.

Gotta say, though, I am glad to see that Cobb Vanth will likely be back. And the big battle with the Pykes was certainly fun. And though I wish the series had been more consistently compelling, I enjoyed it for what it was.

I thought Boba was going to buy it there.

Although, in fairness, I did predict that at the end, Boba might realise that settling down with a territory is not really what he's made for.
