Cool so now you're telling me that I have to be careful what I say and I can't speak of my dislike of TFA just because it offends you because you like it? Dude if you have indeed been following other posts here in the Cantina you would see how many people blast the PT and sometimes even the EU even if the posts are not prequel or EU related. You just have to deal with that cause that's the way people express themselves and you can't just go blasting them with negative quotes if they say something you don't like cause you feel it's off topic. I love the Yuuzhan Vong just as much as you love TFA yet let's look back at this same thread to see how many people disagree with me.

    Hmm let me see.....

1-Many guys here don't like them the way I do and would only add them to SW canon if they were changed.

2-Another poster doesn't like them much cause to him they felt one-dimensional.

3-Another poster disliked them cause to him the Vong novels felt like fantasy wannabe Star Wars novels.

4-While I love how the Yuuzhan Vong looked from the start, a poster here doesn't agree with that and what I find awesome and cool looking he finds goofy, cluttered, cartoonish and muppety.

5-Another poster dislikes them so much that he compares them to simple Orks and he found the novels to be lazy, uninspired writing.

6-Another found them too Star Trekky for his tastes.

7-Another poster disliked the Yuuzhan Vong so much that it made him get away from SW for a long time.

8-One poster said he hated the Vong and that they were the product of unimaginative story telling.

It was after all of these comments that I finally wrote my opinion. Look at all the negative things that some people say about the SW species that I greatly love. Do you see me giving any of them negative quotes? Did I argue with them? No my friend because even though I indeed love the Vong, each poster has the right to his/her own opinion and we all have to learn to deal with that. Sometimes you are going to meet people that just don't go with the flow and you can't get mad about that. I am one of those very fans and I just tend to see things the way I do and I'm cool with that. I'm a fan that isn't fond of Boba Fett while most fans love him. I find TESB to be my least liked movie of the OT while most fans think it is the best. I think the PT was just as awesome as the OT while many people here in the Cantina disagree with me. I would rather see prequel movies from hardly known characters such as Bossk, Zuckuuss or even Greedo than seeing some about a young Han Solo, Boba Fett or Obi Wan and on this many fans disagree with me as well and finally, I greatly disliked TFA just as much as many fans here dislike the PT and yet many people here find that movie awesome.

It's just the way things are my friend and we all have to deal with those things. My first SW action figure was Greedo and from that moment I grew very fond of him and still love him alot to this day but I can't get mad with a fellow poster if the threads title is ''Isn't Cad Bane The Best Bounty Hunter?'' and all of a sudden one poster writes: ''I don't like him much but at least he's not dorky and stupid like Greedo was.'' Should I get angry and give him negative quotes just because I love Greedo and the threat wasn't related to him in any way? Not at all because he/she has the right to saw what they want to say and I can't get mad at them because they bought Greedo in a post that wasn't about him and insulted him.

Once again I ask you to forgive me if I insulted you in any way and I'm indeed sorry that this did turn out to be a bit of an aggravating exchange as you said but just analyze my words a bit for when you enter other posts and suddenly something off topic pops out.

Thank you my friend and as stated earlier I too am sorry if I offended you. Everyone has flaws and so do I and maybe I too was a little defensive on my part. Just like you, there are lots of things I love about SW but I have been attacked so much about my love of the PT that I tend to be very defensive. It's a real bother that because many people disliked the PT, fans tend to WANT everyone else to hate it and they try to shove their opinions in your face and treat you as a looser or a mindless dork if you don't agree with them. But let's let bygones be bygones and let's keep sharing our love for SW as I'm sure there are many MANY things that we must both like! :)

There is a bit of an Elephant in the Room whenever it comes to talking about the Yuuzhan Vong... and it is never brought up.

But concerns that it is a bit Star Trekky... yeah, it absolutely is Star Trekky... in that this is an alien species from Another galaxy.... ANOTHER GALAXY. Far removed from the Star Wars setting... and what do they look like? what is insisted upon time and time and time again? That in their baseline humanoid form, that htey are indistinguishable from humans.

Star Wars has always had wild and crazy aliens, what feew humanoids there are... at 90% of the time descended from human colonists that adapted too their homeworlds over a long period of time. Extra-galactic would work far better for say... the Ssi-ru, the silentiums, Maccabree... there are species in star wars that the extra-galactic thing works with.

But for the Vong... its just like... "huh?" it feels like something out of Star Trek. AND I HAVE THE SAME COMPLAINT ABOUT THE NAGAI!!! I am a huge fan of nagai, but when I look at them I think "yeah right they are extra galactic" (in fact they had to retcon it that their home galaxy is a satellite one, and they are descended from chiss colonists in it)

I think that first and foremost what needs to be done with the Vong... is to give them a home in the Unknown Regions. Then I think that after that they need to be tied in with the Chiss... not biologically necessarily... but maybe have had the two species come into conflict time and time again. Give the Chiss half of the galaxy some political strife?

It is so weird that this isn't talked about more... of all of the extra galactic and foreign and alieney star wars races... the one that comes from a different galaxy (non-satellite galaxy) IS BASICALLY HUMAN?!?!?!

I actually really like your suggestion of making them from the unknown regions and having them war with the Chiss, great way to ground them a bit more if they ever are adapted into canon.

Plus I think that they would make good polar opposites too the Chiss. The Chiss emphasize practicality, everything they make is streamlined, very militaristic, they are a calculatiing people who take everything seriously, and I am fairly certain they are atheistic too a sense.

the Vong are wild, savage beings, who worship many gods, have many rituals... they explored a technological path far more chaotic and random than the chiss could ever tolerate.

they also prefer hot and humid worlds, jungley worlds even... while the Chiss prefer cold frozen worlds.

Hidalgo's tweets suggest that TCW would have made the Vong more like Sith purebloods than like the Vong from the novels. I felt like the Vong in Legends cheated the rules of the Star Wars universe, but I'd love a Sith pureblood presence in the Unknown Regions or another galaxy.
