Teaser trailer or full trailer, when and where?

Yep that's in August, close enough.

 

Y-Wings being used as Bombers, instead of trench run fighters. ha ha. Maybe some sick B-Wing action.

 

I want to hear the imperial march, Vader breathing and a red lightsaber igniting just in front of the rebels.

 

I want to see:

-The Massassi Temple
-Mads Mikkelsen, rumoured to be playing the designer of the Death Star, talking with Tarkin
-Variations of old ships, and also completely new ships
-An introduction to the heroes
-Cool new droids
- A sense of despair as the Rebels go up against the mighty Empire - but a ray of hope too
-A huge ground battle in the rain, as seen in concept art
-A glimpse of Vader

 

Can't. The Imperial March wasn't written until Empire.

 

I would do the following: Someone talking saying what horrifyng the galactic civil war has been so far and how the empire is relentless, seeing Rebel soldiers battered up, like soldiers resting from the worst battle you can imagine the fade out we see stormtroopers firing and being something that you fear, like really fear maybe killing people, then X Wings in an all out battle very shortly WW2 style shots, while a line like "Im taking an awful risk Vader" delivered from Tarkin and fade out the breathing of vader maybe a line from James Earl Jones like "I will handle this myself" over the title

That should give a general idea on the War style of the Movie.

I want a teaser im starting to have the Star Wars withdrawal syndrome again

A idea of how the overall lighting and colors are going to look.

 

I will like to see how the "Bad Guys" built the Death Star.Is like trying to know how the egyptian made the pyramids.It will be COOL and never in SW we have ever see how they built them.

 

...so you want a live action Rebels a trailer .

That is fine for me Astro.The best part is that we are going to enjoy another SW movie this year.

 

Until it tanks (which I hope it doesn't) .

I would love to see to see tiny flashes of inconsequential scenes - kinda like this...



But perhaps with even less visual and more audio - or even audio only against a black screen - to tantalize.

The subtle presentation for Comic Con last year was a great example of less is more. Personally I'd rather lots of evenly dosed snippets across the coming months than staggered teaser/trailer reveals.

 

It'd be awesome to have Vader's breathing in the background quietly for the whole trailer. Not in the forefront, but subtle enough for the audience to know he's around...somewhere

 

I have a question for those saying they want something minimal, why is that? We already know what happens in this film, it's the how it happens that will get our butts in the seats.

Maybe I'm of the opinion that they have no reason to be sneaky with this one, unlike TFA, I don't really know yet. But I was fine with the secrecy for TFA, I enjoyed what surprises came our way in theater, and I'm sure R1 will have a few as well.

I guess I'm just a little surprised that we know as little as we do compared to this point in the timeline for TFA, and I'm hoping things really pick up soon. I'm starting to go back and forth on whether this movie is going to work. I really want it to, but we need to see evidence that it isn't a money-grab piece of filler with a familiar logo stamped on it.

 

For me, the beauty of a tease is that it delivers maximum effect from minimum disclosure.

There are good rebuttals for those wanting more. People like me can always avoid watching these trailers (not likely for me!) and it could be said Disney doesn't give away as much in it's recent trailers as some other franchises/production companies.

Looking back on TFA I cannot remember being introduced to a single location during the screening that wasn't already familiar. Granted these details might not have revealed a lot of the plot, but come a coupla weeks before release when I was seeing Kylo deflecting Rey's laser bolts and freezing her I was starting to see these clips as less "tease" and more "revealing the goods".

In hindsight, I think I'd have preferred seeing Takodana for the first time in the theatre - along with Rey. Imagine seeing all that green with her after seeing only space, desert and ice in the lead up...
