I agree, Stuckman is actually very good with movie reviews. I wouldn't put him in the class as say the Schmoes or Kevin Smith but I like his detail in his reviews.

Seen it 3 times in theatre. First time in IMAX 3D (but up close) and my son and I both left feeling underwhelmed. Saw it in 2D again with my son and we enjoyed it more. Saw it again 3D IMAX (sat further back) and left underwhelmed once again. Since then, I have it on DVD and I have attempted to watch it a further 7 times (I am desperate to like it) and only fallen asleep twice.

Basically for me, TFA after multiple viewings has become tolerable.

TFA still holds up for me as I have seen it about 15 times on BluRay. I recently watched it after watching all 3 OT movies and it's just a fun movie as JJ totally gets what makes SW great. Once SW takes itself too seriously (The PT and parts of ROTJ) it just slogs through. What makes ANH, ESB and TFA work for me is the editing as the movies never comes to a complete halt as the 2 hours just fly by. And the great moments in TFA still resonate with me even after multiple viewings. Here are some of my favorite moments:

-Rey sitting outside of the AT-AT and puts the Rebel Helmet on as it's a great window into her loneliness.

-Rey and Finn running from the Stormtroopers and eventually boarding the falcon. That scene is the definition of what makes SW fun.'

-Han's speech to the Rey/Finn about Luke and The Force, "It's true....all of it...."

-Rey and Kylo Ren going at it during the scene where they are reading each other's minds.

-Rey force grabbing the Lightsaber from Kylo Ren, and that powerful John Williams score plays in the backround.

-Rey meeting Luke is a perfect ending to TFA.

After multiple viewings I've realized that the CGI for motion capture characters is not that much different than for TPM, which is almost two decades older!

So, everyone complaining about how shitty the CGI was in the prequels, maybe they should take a closer look? Or is it the CGI in TFA that's bad?

I've seen it multiple times and still love it! But I find the more you watch it the more little things bug you. For example the Falcon just happened to be on Jakku and Han and Chewie were just hangin around in system? Cmon! But I still enjoy the movie every time I watch it, I really like the new characters, they are all favourites. Still hoping too see General Wedge Antilles in the next one though and hopefully Lando too!

I saw him. Leia, I saw our son. He was here. One of my favorite scenes of TFA when Han and Leia finally meet.

I've lost track of how many times I've watched TFA and I plan to see it again before TLJ. It's simply that wonderful.

I have yet to watch TFA(I am marathoning through the prior movies), but really the story for me has become tolerable upon reading the book. Yeah, I'm not going to sugarcoat how disappointed I was with the movie. Not that it was awful. Seriously, those people who think it is the worst SWs film, please rewatch ATC or even TPM. I digress.

But really, the novel in my view does a better job conveying the story and characters. Though, the latter is easier given how books more often focus on a character's thoughts. My two biggest gripes with the movie are A) the lack of world building and B) the third act.

The former to me is unacceptable, especially given how the book does touch on the New Republic. In this instance, it was clear that LucasFilm learned the wrong lessons from the PT. Because, had the movie just did what the OT and had a simple round table sequence or have Leia just briefly explain the situation, like why the New Republic wasn't lifting their butts, cool.

Because, much as the NC has done a good job explaining this, it isn't in the movie. As for the third act, Starkiller base just sucks. I'm sorry, but that aspect to me felt like it was inserted by committee, as if Kennedy or even the Stockholders are like "Well, what them fans of Star Wars like? giant orbital shaped superweapons? Sure, put one in there". But I digress. I DON"T hate the movie. I can see why people like it. And it does have a good ending.

I have to rewatch it, but I remember giving the movie a 65%. Which is fine. The book, I'd give like a 68% as it improves aspects quite a bit.

I've watched TFA too many times and it is a really exciting and adventurous. I have come to conclude that the characters are really the stars of the movie, and it's placed first and foremost, with the story taking a back seat ( but still is very important ). It's a different film compared to ANH in many, many ways. TFA has a sweet spot in my heart as it's actually my first SW film in the cinema ( now you probably know my age! ). Nonetheless, it captures the magic of Star Wars, which is truly special. I hope TLJ will further enhance what has come before, and the image will be clearer as we reach Episode IX. :)

p.s. Finally my 30th post, now I can like your comments!

I wouldn't say that it's technically the worst but it's the most disappointing by far.

After seeing the Last Jedi this week I went back watched TFA again, and I have to say I just love this movie. I get some of the criticism and it’s not without flaws, but it is just a great ride. The introduction of Rey on Jakku with no words and only images is one of my favorite portions of any movie I’ve ever scene. The Falcon chase thru the ship graveyard ranks right up there with the asteroid field in ESB - I can watch it over and over. It’s just gorgeous film making. And the final lightsaber duel with Kylo in the forest is just breathtaking.

I’m very excited J.J. will be back for IX.

Saw TFA 4 times in the theater and 20 times in Bluray. Sadly I may never revisit it after that travesty TLJ. Everything TFA build up is ruined now including the ending. So Luke throws his Lightsaber???? Way to go RJ! :(

I rewatched it on my big 49' tv the morning of TLJ.
In retrospect, an exercise in futility.
I saw TFA ~30 times in early 2016 and probably burned my tongue to it's taste in the process. Still, I find myself liking this film a lot. Falcon score really gets the blood pumping.
