Thanks for the pic! I noticed they never showed the double suns. If it is Tatooine, why didn't they show the double-suns, especially in that first shot with Boyega? Seems like that would be a no-brainer if JJ wanted to excite long-time OT fans (not that we need anymore exciting).

But it would be weird if JJ created a whole new desert planet, right?

Maybe he has opted to create ecologically diverse planets like Naboo, not like the planets in the OT...

In various shots of Tatooine in the OT the suns vary their distance apart. The one sun is so close to the edge in the trailer that the other sun could very easily be present but in a higher position off screen. Additionally the twin suns are not present in every exterior shot OF Tatooine in the OT.

Apparently Denis Lawson(Wedge Antilles) was approached about being in the film but decline. So we know they wanted an Antilles in the film, which strengths the argument that Isaac's surname could be Antilles IMO. I mean, why not?

 

I noticed the twin suns were not in the concept art either. My theory is that originally when they made the concept art the Planet was not Tatooine but a planet called Pasher. Since then they may have changed it to Tatooine, because it's more familiar to the audience.

 

Well, at first I was pretty puzzled!
Like what the hell?! I really didn't expect so much ''weird'' things after being exposed to EU stuff, that heavily borrowed from the OT, so outside of PT introducing dual lightsaber there wasn't much of revolution in the visuals.

But I fell in love with this. The first scene with Boyega. I wouldn't mind him as lead character, as he is stormtrooper and also, as in OT, he is not this huge popular, overused and everywhere ''model manequin'' face.

That ball droid, funny and fresh not seeing some new variation of trash-bin, but something more radical.

Daisy Ridley shot, hmm, okay.

X-Wings!!! Fabulous! That scene completely sold the movie to me!

Sith in forest was little out of place for me and I can't wait to know more about this sword.
When I first saw that leaked concept art, I was: ''Nah, some fan's crazy dream. Why there will be lightsaber like this and why is he looking like Revan's rip off.''
I am stunned and intriqued.

The shot with the red sun on bottom with Luke, seems to be at sunset. If that's the case wouldn't the red sun rise first and the yellow sun come second? Following that logic, I'm thinking it's possible for the trailer scene to be morning and the red sun is above the one shown and out of frame. Just a guess though.

 

The whole village was force choked to death already...

 

I keep hearing a lot about new worlds, I feel like if the desert planet is in fact Tatooine then it is probably the only familiar location from the previous 6 films we'll see in this one. Maybe even the entire ST.

Looks better than most of the rumors I saw so far, but I don't buy that Plagueis stuff at all.
He is dead, only if revived or preserved somehow by Sith magic. Palpatine has his urn in his private office.

A spirit urn was a Sith artifact that resembled an ornate black vase, and was where the remains of deceased Sith Lords were kept. Palpatine had two of these in his office, one of which contained the remains of his late master, Darth Plagueis

It would make sense if it were Tatooine. The first movie in the PT and OT both spent significant time on Tatooine. The Skywalker clan has deep roots there. So it makes sense to root Kira to Tatooine too, if she is related to Luke as we assume.

But why didn't JJ make it explicitly clear in the teaser? Seems like a missed opportunity.

Or he's trying to keep us nerds guessing because he knows we overanalyze everything.

I didn't take it as a put down. lol I was just excited to share some new (what i thought was new) News. Highly doubtful anything from 4chan would be real anyway, but the speculation is fun.
