Has there been any updates on this since it was announced ?
I’m guess we are still at least a couple of years off getting it, but would be nice to hear some updates so we know it hasn’t fallen off the grid.

Dude, im so looking forward to this. Im not a darkside guy or anything but i like different perspectives on things. Everything is from a certain point of view. What I really want is a show about tbe average Imperial Stormtrooper and why he decided to enlist. That's what I want to see. I'll take this too for sure.

Wonder if a new dark side order will be revealed in this series? Or will it just be an offshoot of Sith somewhere in the galaxy? Maybe some Jedi gone rogue perhaps? The summary for this series is very ominous. Will be interesting to see live action at this point in the timeline.

That would be very interesting. But I have a feeling this show is about the Sith itself, which is even more interesting. Unless you read the non-canon novels, we really don’t know anything about the inner workings of the Sith, how they grew over the millennium in the shadow of the Republic. It would be so cool to learn their brutal customs and training techniques (if Disney is daring enough to go there.) I also would like to see a “female” Sith Lord, which is what the main character is rumored to be.

If the show is centered on Tenebrus, Plagueis, Venamis, the Acolyte, Sidious, Cloning & other unnatural Sith Experiments, then I'll be the happiest lush in the Cantina.

That there is setting yourself up for misery, mate. No one will never, ever make the film that you have in your head; that literally cannot happen. And by locking yourself into an ultimatum like that, you are setting yourself up to be disappointed.

I never asked anyone to, so its all good.

I used to think that way until Maul returned, then I realized they can do whatever they want.

Is this a reference of her new well-known Star Wars project in Russian Doll season 2?
    mmmmm
    Maybe...
    aco.png

Btw, although her acting is too much "look, all my life, what I've done, what I like, what I say...it's me" and you have a big idea of all the huge information she has in her brain, the tempo of the show is fast and cool, the camera work is more than correct and cinematography is quite gritty and old school too, and the story has a lot of information and references too. So at least it's interesting what she has to offer in the SW universe.

Let’s talk about the recent casting rumor:
    • Paul: Male, White, 50 years old. The role is described as a series regular, but only needed for one season.
    • Miri: Female, Black, 8-10 years old. The role is described as a lead guest star, with Lucasfilm possibly looking for identical twins to portray the character.

Miri intrigues me. Why would they cast identical twins to portray one character? Some have suggested it has to do with with the limitations of filming children and their schedules, but this makes no sense to me. It’s not like Milly Bobby Brown needed an identical twin to complete Stranger Things. I have never heard of studios relying on this technique, especially since Miri seems like a show regular.

Paul interests me as well. The casting rumor specifically mentions “only needed for one season.” Is he a wise Jedi mentor who dies in the end of season 1? Or is he a bad-guy Sith who gets defeated? There just is not enough information to know for sure.

It is quite common for studios to seak identical twins to share child roles. This is because there are severe child labor laws and restrictions about how many hours a day a child can work, and things like that. You can't have them on set more than a few hours (I think it is), which, of course, you can practically double with twins sharing a part.

If you read the casting call, you see that they are calling for one role, possibly for twins to portray that (one) character. This is very normal, although it doesn't happen all that often. (For obvious reasons - there aren't a whole loft of identical twin actors of adequate ability around).

I'm not aware whether the Stranger Things people ever sought twins for their child roles, although there are several kids in that show, to spread the "burden", and there's a lot of adult actors, too. Also, I don't think Brown is the most featured child character either; its been a while since I watched the show, but I expect Wolfhard has more screentime?
