    I'm thinking maybe that isn't Palatine at the end of the trailer. I almost get the feeling like it is a servant or something. We see him in some of these images not hooked up to anything (mech-chair, life supports..etc). Now, if the rumors of him being near death at first, then drawing energy from Rey and Kylo, then I guess the images of him sitting in the throne could be after all of that. Something just isn't lining up for me.

    Agree with the bolded part. I don't want to criticize the film when it's not even out yet, or judge it. But Daisy said after TFA that it should be apparent who her parents are by watching TFA. So yeah, IF the rumor that she is the granddaughter of Palpatine turns out to be true, there is ABSOLUTELY no way that was the original plan.

    I will say this is one rumor which I will not believe until I see it. And I hope to god it's not true.

    Controversial, but I still think Palpatine is dead dead and that both the voice we are hearing and the “evil” our heroes are fighting belong to a random Sith dude the force “awakened” after Snoke’s death and is now pretending to be the emperor.

    I'd say it's a possibility.

    I mean they say Palpatine is supposedly back from celebration on until. Yet they haven't really showed any proof have they? Even in the full trailer. They never even showed his face. But he's in it they say. Odd isn't it?

    Not sure how Daisy's quotes would be in conflict here. In this case, her parents aren't important. She's the granddaughter of Palpatine. It would also explain why they were giving Daisy accent lessons during TFA. They wanted her to have a core world accent that was generally an Empire accent. There's been a lot of Emperor being obsessed with the unknown regions in the books/comics the past few years. It seems to me this is one of things that Lucasfilm has been planning for a long time.

    I hate to admit it, but yeah, it could be. When she said it was apparent who her parents were from VII, I took it as she was leaning to someone in the film.

    I do agree there have been some books, especially the Aftermath series that had the Sith obsessed folks especially the acolytes of the beyond.

    Yep, the more I think about it the more it could be. How old is Rey supposed to be? At the time of VII it is what, 34 ABY? So she was connived say in 14 ABY? So assuming Palps had a kid (god I don't wanna imagine the act of conception :eek:) born in 10 BBY that would make his child 24 at the time Rey was conceived?

    Yeah, I think it could work. It would also explain her strength in the force, her going to the darkness....
