It is not current Canon that Palpatine had anything to do with Anakin's conception.

Darth Plagueis is canon and its likely Sidious was involved in “manipulating Midi-chlorians to create life.”

No, it is not "likely" that Sidious was involved in "manipulating Midichlorians to create life".

Revenge of the Sith disproves the idea that Palpatine could actually do any of the things he made Anakin believe were possible, and individuals directly involved with the Lucasfilm Story Group have made it explicitly clear that comic book images seeming to confirm that Palpatine had something to do with Anakin's creation were not intended to be viewed as being literal truth.

True. But from certain point of view, it cannot be ruled out entirely that Palpatine was involved, if even only being aware of Plagueis’s plan; perhaps this is why he killed him, seeing that Midi-chlorian manipulation was dangerious.

    Edit: Like splitting an Atom.

I didn't say it was. My point is that's what people believe. And my other point is JW is full of Batha poo because that website I posted who is never right claimed 2 years ago that Rey was Palps' granddaughter. The same thing JW is saying now. Soooo...

This post raises some serious questions. It would seem strange that this much backstory would have to be introduced in order to explain who Rey was. This is like 20 minutes of the film just to explain the backstory. I'm not saying its not there, but Hey Paplatine had kids, and well the kids had kids and abracadabra here we are, is a bit forced.

Personally, I think Rey was cloned, from who I don't know? is there another, I don't know. If Rey is a clone, take DNA from a hired junk trader on Jakku, mix with the DNA from baby yoda they likely stole in the Mandalorian, and a much simpler explanation.

Now that being said, I like Rey decending from Palpatine, but the cloners could mix Palpatines DNA with kidnapped Jakku girl, and achieve the exact same result without all the extra steps in-between. Palpatine would of course kill the girl, because she knew too much.

    Just my 2 cents.

Didn't the JP leak say she goes back to Ahch-To? The latest TV spot seems to have her back on Ahch-To.

    Some few observations...

1st- MF scene with Poe, Finn, Chewie and Klaud? however... before the jump...

The scarf's logic - as I call it - tells me, this cannot how the movie begins.
Poe has the scarf on his neck until the Star Destroyer, where I suppose he gets his wound (and that should be the moment
    when Finn yells "Poeeee").
Following this logic, the monster scene and the light speed jump have to come not prior anything of that (desert planet, kaijmi, star destroyer).

If so... this is the first bit that doesn't fit JP outline.

    2nd...
I am under the impression that Kylo gets whatever he needs to finish the mask on the swamp planet. Where we see him stabbing that man and that this is what he gets when he enters that floating cube/place.
His face is muddy, and I believe it gets so in the fight that preceded him reaching the floating castle/cube whatever it is.

    3rd
I also under the impression, that some "force connections" are caused by the mask itself.
But most of all, I am under the impression that the good guys are visiting Pasaana and teh Death Star planet because Rey saw those places before, in a vision.
That for instance... the scene of her climbing the ruin is a vison that occurs while she's training in the jungle planet. That she's doing her own things/training and suddenly she's in another place...

Rey being a Palpatine descendent was widely speculated by numerous people back in the day. It was not solely a Zeroh thing so dismissing the MSW report just because Zeroh at one point said it seems rash. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut sometime. While MSW doesn’t get things 100% correct they still have a good overall track record and as more footage of TROS comes out it is looking like MSW info is lining up

Personally I wish they would have had her build her own lightsaber. This obsession with "the Skywalker" lightsaber just baffles me. Not something I'm going to rise a stink over, just something that I'm like "well, okay" about, if that makes sense.

I thought the leak said it was because of the "dark Rey" vision. Something about it causes her to agree with Luke and she runs off to exile. His force ghost appears to her and convinces her to get back in the fight.

You arn’t a Jedi tell you bond with Kyber crystal and make your lightsaber. Why Rey gets to pass on Canon requirements to be a Jedi is odd.

That's a good question. Instead of having this odd infatuation with the saber that was Anakin's, what they should have done is this: the lightsaber "blew up" in TLJ. Let it remain so (I wouldn't have had Rey escape with the crystal because, in my mind, it should have been destroyed). Then in the interim, she builds her own saber. They have a one year gap in between VIII and IX so why not? Luke did the same. Built a new saber in between Empire and Jedi. But who knows?

It’s the whole nostalgia angle Disney is aiming for. Have this legendary lightsaber be in the ST that is in the Prequels and OT. But I agree, Rey should craft her own saber, and complete her skills:

I agree with your scarf logic here... but then the problem here is, Poe isn't wearing the scarf around his neck but also doesn't have it wrapped around a wound on his left arm in the Falcon scene, if you look closely.
So couldn't the timeline then be: Poe has no scarf for his initial scene piloting the Falcon. He adopts the scarf prior to the trip to Pasaana (bit of protection for the dusty environment), gets injured at some point later on, as you say, and uses the scarf to wrap the wound...?
At least that's how it seems to me.

This just a pure hunch, based on nothing at all, but I have the feeling the mask rebuilding scene would be an easy scene to have been dropped in the final cut.
I mean, as a fan, you can attach all sorts of importance to this being shown onscreen if you want, but, narratively speaking, ultimately you just need to see the mask held together with the red stuff to figure out "oh, so he put the mask back together again".
Like I say, I may be way off, but it's weird that the mask building scene is pretty much the only bit of footage which hasn't really been recycled since the initial teaser...

But I agree with what you are saying. I'm slightly confused as to what is actually going on with regards to the whole "walking towards the floating cube" (which now seems to be confirmed at least), the battle in the forest, the mask scene (at which the KOR are present), and how or if all these events are related.

It's worth noting though, that she is carrying the white satchel over her shoulder in the Death Star "climbing" scene, the same one Rey is holding while she and the rest of the gang looking out over the ruins on Kef Bir.
I always took the jungle/Death Star "leap" shot to be a match cut made purely for the sake of the trailer, but I may be wrong...

Ilum doesn't exist anymore by the time of the Sequel Trilogy.

Also, there isn't a formal Jedi Order any longer.

I don't think you necessarily need to get the crystal from Illum. Where did Luke get his crystal for his saber?

Also where does it say the planet no longer exists? I've not seen that in anything that I can recall.

But does it matter if the Jedi Order isn't a going concern anymore? She still could construct a new blade, and that would be indicative of her moving forward. Like I said it could be handled off screen just like they did with Luke in Jedi.

And for what its worth, Luke built his own lightsaber, but didn't become a jedi till he confronted Vader again. So the lightsaber wasn't the thing that made him a jedi. Though I agree I would like Rey to have her own blade, it would seem that the only place she could turn to do it was the books she got from Luke At least in the predisney star wars I think the lightsaber building techniques changes over time. Luke got his from notes from Obi-wan I think. now Rey is fairly adept at tech, so I've no doubt she could figure it out.

On the Palpatine note, the Sith master in all the games I've ever played bestows the lightsaber on the apprentice rather than having them make one.

though it has never been directly stated, it is heavily implied (and supported by Jedi: Fallen Order) that Ilum was the planet from which Starkiller Base was constructed.

that said, i agree about the Jedi. Luke says the Force does not belong to them and everything in the ST and EU supports that the concept of Jedi is evolving and not to be hindered, impeded, defined or in other words gated by its own flawed legacy.
