They really aren't following what the leaks say.

According to one biased, person who hated TLJ that posted on Reddit says the ending was just Rey being asked who she was, she says Rey Skywalker. That's it...

That would be one boring ending and would be the same as the beginning of Rey's journey. Ends up on a sand planet...the end. Almost every single person has said, it had a satisfying ending. Having Rey end up on a sand planet and thats end wouldn't be satisfying. Has to be more to the ending than that for people to say it was satisfying ending.

 

Depends what people are satisfied by, I guess.
Luke and Leia Force ghosts together, binary sunset, back on Tatooine where it all began, burying the sabers of the previous generation etc - might be satisfying to some, might be disappointing to others...

 

I really wish you to have a good time.
I really do.
But like I said for me it’s not a matter of execution and not even of plot, lore etc...
I can handle that and I do not expect a movie to be perfect.
It’s that I have my bottom line when it comes to other issues.
I see that it’s but the same for everybody.
And that’s fair.

I've really got to see this film now (just over 24hours until my midnight screening)

Really not impressed by the opening crawl, no mention of the resistance's back story reg. what they've been up to in the year since TLJ, just straight into focusing on Palpertine..

The last time we saw them there was less than ten of them! You really shouldn't need to read a book/comic to get some context.

 

Satisfying and epic.

Rey with an old lady on a sand planet would not be epic and satisfying. That contradicts leaks. Nobody would state that was epic and satisfying, sorry. Just admit the ending is not what it's claimed to be.

 

Maybe maybe not. Who are these people what sort of fans are they? If this IS essentially the ending will you personally be pissed or no?

 

No. But it will feel pretty flat.

I just want to know how the ENTIRE movie leaked months before release. The Jedi Paxis tap started to flow, what, six months ago? And if they were changing and reshooting as much as the cast indicated, then the leaks were coming either from the set or from post. Bad Robot definitely has a major security issue. I can't imagine Disney is happy.

 

My favourite ending in SW is Empire Strikes back, the shot of Luke and Leia looking into space, where you just know they are going after han. it has such a nice feel to it considering how much they all lost in that movie. but if you had that in script form, or worse, translated via a leak, would it have the same impact? doubt it. Cinema is a visual medium ( and Audio) to reduce a film moment into text is pointless and could not, never would, have the power of the film itself.

my favourite ever end that never happened in SW was the origional end for ROTJ where luke rides into the sunset and is neither a Jedi or a Sith, hes just the last force user. he doesn't start a school, he doesn't stay with the rebellion, be becomes a kind of Man with no name jedi Ronin....Would not supprise me at all if that is the end of this movie and I would consider that to be epic. I have wanted to see that end since I read about it in the old ROTJ script over a decade ago.

 

Well a similar thing happened with TFA. These two have been the ones that leaked the most.

 

I honestly don't think Lucasfilm cares as much about secrecy as people assumed because if they had truly wanted to stop the spoilers, they could have done so fairly easily and swiftly.

 

To me it appears as an almost purposeful attempt to prep the fans for some of the complexity of the plot and feed the interest of the spoiler hounds. I could also see a purposeful low key leak to key sources being a means to influence positive coverage and control some of the narrative.

The concept of going in totally spoiler free is thought to be the best way to enjoy any movie but I do not believe that holds true for everyone or for movie goers in general. I went in relatively spoiler free to some movies and totally spoiled on others and it seemed to not really correlate with my enjoyment levels in fact a few times I did go the spoiler free route I wish I had not so that I could have better understood some things going on in the film. I think some in Hollywood realize that Is not an uncommon experience so they either put out the “leaks” or allow them to happen.

 

I'm really confused here... why is there no people there in the theater?

 

We already got this with TLJ. Is JJ really going to force these characters to Tatooine for this moment? It just feels like they are on Tatooine because the script requires them to be there. I'm hoping this movie will have some great moments but I'm not excited to be honest.

 

At this point, now that we know the leaks were by and large accurate, I can say that I'm most likely going to find the film personally satisfying, which is ultimately the only thing that matters, although I do want to hear what people like Full of Sith Podcast hosts Bryan Young and Holly Frey, Skytalkers Podcast hosts Charlotte and Caitlyn, and Aggressive Negotiations podcast hosts Matt Rushing and John W. Mills have to say about it.

 

I'm curious how Rey got a crystal. I mean, you just don't find those lying around and how the hell did she even know about Tatooine? I suppose Tatooine could be a legendary location because of Luke and what not but still.

 

I don't think the pic leaks came from the screening.

 

I believe the guy that took the pics and posted on Reddit was a projectionist. He saw the first 5 mins and the last 3 mins. So that was probably during setup and test which is why nobody was there and he could snap the pics.

 

I believe Rey ends up with a lightsaber that belonged to Leia and combines its Kyber Crystal with the repaired one from Anakin's lightsaber to create her own blade, and in doing so ends up altering the color of that blade from blue (since the blades of both sabers she uses are blue) to yellow.

Also, her knowing about Tatooine really isn't all that surprising given her association in this movie with both Luke and Leia.
