She's the one who said it. That would definitely seal the deal especially when the outcome fits all the things we know about her.

It was such a letdown (seen leaked clip of the scene) that Rey was a nobody.

I’d rather her be the granddaughter of Jar Jar Binks tbh.

Rey said it? In my memory she didn’t say anything to it, I could be wrong, because you make me doubt. Anyway, in 2 hours I’m watching it again, I will pay extra attention to it :)

Seen it, to the people who havent, have fun. Its a good movie, not the best one out of the bunch, but it was good.

It was giving off this fanfiction vibe everywhere, the original plot line is gone and they've open up a different path for it.

I'm okay with it but i dont know about the die hards though. It has this sacrilegious vibe to it that just wont go away. I felt guilty enjoying the movie, it was good, cheesy in a tasteful way.

    Spoilers:
Reylo confirmed, yes they are going that road.
    Leia uses the force
Reys parents are dead scavengers from Jakku.
Luke dies in the most cheesiest welcome to Valhalla kind of way.
Snoke got killed by Kylo in a way that disappointed from the build up they made from The Force Awakens.
Hux became the comic relief of the story
Phasma died without a great battle scene
No one supports the rebel alliance anymore
Cant remember the others, ask me and ill see what i can remember.

I really hope they pull the new trilogy that RJ is supposed to have away from him. If he wanted to go all "I want this to not feel like a SW movie", then he should have done it there.

Just got back from the movie.

    Spoilers:
Can someone confirm something for me as I blinked and may have missed it. Did Rey have the Jedi Books in the drawer compartment of the falcon at the end of the movie??

Whoever disagreed with me. Have you seen the movie yet? If not, then I'm not sure how you can have an opposing opinion.

This is kind of tongue and cheek, but why I believe that

Yes, Kylo Ren orders her to say it, two or three times and she got emotional and she said it, C'étaient des parias, well, I saw it in french :D

That's after that Kylo Ren said that they were junk dealers who sold her to drink.

I was sure that she was dead at the moment, I mean ... Really. Then WTF ???

The opening scene with Poe, it took me a while to get in the movie and then this took me out again.

Do you mean the Hans dice from the Falcon?

I don't think I would have minded if Leia died at that point when the bridge blew up. It would have cemented the rebellion at its lowest point (and also written the story group out of a hole for EP9)

It shouldn't be Rey Nobody but Rey Anybody.

Basically she represents all of "us" - anybody. The Force can now awaken in anybody, she is just the first. Anybody can feel this power inside of him, not knowing what it means and what to do with it. Therefore the scene at the end with broom boy. The Force Awakens. In anybody. Therefore Rey Anybody :)

Snoke was a highlight for me (not his untimely death obviously) but I think they did a good job of showcasing his powers and manipulation of everything that was happening.

Would have loved to see alot more in this and future episodes and some actual background on who he is!

Well I've got to say, as a huge fan - I'm quite disappointed.
Great movie though, the suspense was something else for a Star Wars film. The space battles were great, if smaller scale for such a huge event. However, the big moments fell flat big time for me. The way Luke went out, especially with such an uncharacteristic portrayal from earlier in the film (attempting to kill Ben Solo, before pulling out) has simply ruined his legacy for me. Yes, I'm probably just a bit emotional right now, but I'm really disappointed with all things Luke. The Leia fake out was quite disappointing as well. It was okay, but that scene really could have been something else if she actually did die. Really would have raised the stakes and 100% would have been impactful. Force jesusing back to the ship is a bit... much.. even for a Skywalker. Rey.. for the build up of being 'challenged' in this film, was hardly challenged at all. I was not a huge Rey complainer from TFA, knowing it was the first of a new trilogy, but consider me disappointed with her arc; especially being a nobody (even though i know the point of it). Yoda appearing, that was cool. Still seemingly out of character, but perhaps not (considering he said been shown in very different stages from or to ot). Ben/Kylo I really enjoyed and that throne room scene is a BIG highlight. Poe was cool, Finn was decent, Phasma is hugely disappointing (especially considering her recent comics/book), Holdo was great, Rose was cliche, DJ was cool (if a little incomplete), and Hux wasn't too bad. Overall, just really disappointed right now. The force overall and how Disney is treating it, just isn't how i imagined it would be portrayed. 'Power levels' for lack of a better way to put it, hardly make sense. And to conclude, I still can't believe what i just watched with regard to Luke. HE could have had such a great moment - And even a great swangsong, but it was anything but. It will be interesting to see the direction 9 goes, but I probably won't be going to a midnight session again.

Kylo tells her she has been sold by her parents.( two naimles junk dealers).Kylo sees this in a vision orchestrated by manipulative Snoke.

If true, that means Rey was never loved by her parents.

I find this to much to accept , it hurts.

Despite this is the reality of the people, they can hate their children and sold them in slavery, it is, in my eyes, just to much for a Space opera.

I will accept Rey was abandoned by a poor loving "no one" parents who probably died.

Or better, not knowing exact curcumstances at all.But deliberately put to Know she was a kid sold by her parents, and never loved. Its hard to accept this.

Anakion was lsave boy, but loved by her mother. Luke was loved by his uncle, and, eventualy by his Father. Leia to.

How come we got not just random hero, which as I say is ok, but a random - molested child hero.

I think it was lie to weaken Rey. It was the hit in Rey's weakest point, in her heart.

Let's start a petition for JJ Abrams to bring back Luke Skywalker and let him show how badass he really is.

He could truly be the most powerful Jedi of all. Maybe he can switch between the Netherworld and "real" world at will with death not having any meaning for him anymore.
This would be a great way to show how the Force evolved. In the PT we have Qui-Gon who can only speak from the Netherworld, in the OT we have Ben and Yoda who appear as ghosts and in the ST we have Luke who can switch from Netherworld and "real" world at will.

Wasn't something like this planned for RTJ? Luke bringing back Obi-Wan from the Netherworld? JJ Abrams should really do this.

Imagine something like this: Rey being hopeless, all seems lost. Luke talks to her. We only hear his voice. He then appears as a ghost. Rey is overjoyed but realizes that he only is a ghost and asks how this can help. She turns away. We see her from the side, Lukes ghostly hand touching her shoulder. He says "The Force is my ally. And it is a powerful ally!" and with those words his hand becomes physical. He tells Rey that he ascended, that life and death don't have any meaning for him anymore. And he chooses how he can appear, where and when.

I saw the movie this morning. I've never written a review in my life, but there's a first time for everything...
Let me start with the "bad":
When i saw the trailer(s) for TLJ, i wasn't that excited. I was afraid the movie might just be more of the same.
The first half of the movie confirmed that. It had some nice moments (especially everything involving Luke and Rey), but there
were also some pretty boring ones (I'm looking at you Canto Bight). There was one scene where Leia uses the force, which IMO didn't fit at all.
Based on the first half, I'd rank it somewhere around ROTS. Not bad, but not that great either...

However... the second half of the movie (bear in mind that this is my personal OPINION) was
maybe, IMHO, just maybe, the best I've ever seen in Star Wars.
I've seen countless films in my life (including all movies from all the top 100 lists (AFI,...) you can think of) , but never has a movie left me so emotional as this one.
The only movie that came close was the ending(s) of LOTR: the return of the king.

    Major SPOILER ALERT
So many great, jaw-dropping, gorgeous, "making me teary-eyed" moments in that second half: Luke meeting Leia, Luke VS Kylo (with a, IMO, great twist which almost had me stand up and clap),
the gorgeous, jaw-dropping moment when Snoke's ship get's destroyed, and so many more...

It's impossible to rate this movie after only having seen it once, but for now it's up there with my favorite SW movie: A New Hope (which is, for me, just ever so slightly better than ESB).
I'd like to make a comparison with 2 Indiana Jones movies: Raiders and the Last Crusade.
Most people agree that Crusade is the better overall movie, but Raiders get's rated higher because it just has some of the most memorable moments in movie history.
I'd say the same thing about this movie: it has some bad/boring moments, but, for me, it hits so many high notes that those couple of bad moments and that relatively boring first half no longer matter.
Time might change my opinion about this movie, but at this moment, it's just great...
