Well... If the black x-wing belongs to Finn... that might give the wrong message?

But I'm going with it that it belongs to Kylo or Ren.

Poe is coming across as the straight arrow hero, so to reflect that, it will be white and blue x-wing, with him being blue leader.

Maybe. But remember the "blue leader" rumor was SpoilerMan's.

Yo what's up guys so a while back we saw a leaked image of the black x-wing. Many have said Poe will be the pilot but there is really no proof of this. I think I may have found some. Btw this may be a spoiler to some so...warning if you read on.

Ok so Poe as the black x-wing driver? It's it highly likely. Look at this image it shows Poe in his x-wing with a black helmet on. Is that the new helmet for all pilots or his because of the black x-wing? Remember all the pilots in the ot had different helmets. Rogue squadron had red on there's and different designs.

    image.jpg
Look at the two images. In the first we see Poe in the black helmet, but in the wreck we see a rebel pilot in a white helmet. The second photo was from the force for change video. So is this enough evidence to support that Poe is the black x-wing pilot. No it is not but it is enough to speculate about and say its a possibility. So what do you guys really think about this?

It's an interesting observation and one I'm happy to go along with.

However, are any of the Xwings in the trailer black (I can't tell, am at work)? The trailer leads us to believe the shot of Poe in the cockpit and the Xwings skimming water are a continuous sequence, but they may not be -- just as the Rey-on-speeder shots appear to be a composite (one shot showing the 'staff' on the speeder, the other not).

So, questions: is Poe's Xwing black; if there isn't a black Xwing in the trailer does that mean Poe isn't one of the pilots skimming the water, and is Plagueis really dead....

Also (and sorry for multiple edits), can someone point me at a pic of the black Xwing, please? Are we sure it's a working ship -- could it be a scenery prop that is set alight for a crash scene? Just a thought.....

    @riedel1973 Thanks. :)

Ok. So that doesn't look like a battle-damaged flaming prop. Theory dumped. A black helmet would look good with that....

Poe will be a wingman I cannot see him leading a squadron until he shows actions of brave nature.

Yeah, sorry about that. I think it was on the tenth page or something! You have a great idea, one that I think people could discuss a little more if they are inclined.

I'm not sure if anyone has covered this, if so please merge:

What if the black x-wing belongs to Adam driver? If he is Kylo Ren and has an alter ego in the new republic, we've seen pictures of him dressed as an x-wing pilot, elite squad commander and son of general solo? Son of Queen Leia? OR, he IS an x-wing pilot and Ren is the alter ego, and the black x-wing is the dark side manifesting itself and a sign of things to come...

    Thoughts?

    Cool, thanks for the merge!

I wonder if it does anything special? The codename on set for it was Tiltawhirl I think. That makes me wonder if there is something special about it other than it's color or did they just call it something special because its a main characters whip?

I thought "Tila-a-whirl" was codename for ALL the X-wings.

I thought I saw it specified as Poe's but you might be right.

Either way I wonder if Poe's ride is just painted different because of his status or if it's go new abilities. Stealth X-wing....Whoa. "No ship that small has a cloaking device." Maybe 30 years later they do.
