Hey everyone! Been posting around on these forums lately in full Hype Mode for Rogue One, when I found a section of the forums dedicated to tabletop games! As the host of a board gaming show on my friends' channel, I'm always glad to see gaming culture.

Anyway, many of my favorite games are Star Wars related, so I figured it would be cool to compile them all in one place on these forums. So far I've been impressed with everything I've played. If you have any other Star Wars that you think are fun, let me know- I'm always looking for more!

First, and one of the first videos I've ever made, is a tutorial for Star Wars Rebellion.

Next, we did a three part series for Rebellion. Fair warning- we kinda screwed up some rules, so this isn't a totally kosher playthrough. Still, we had a lot of fun!

Next, we had a tutorial for Imperial Assault (probably my all time favorite game!) My hair was wet in this one for some reason.

We followed that up with a mission playthrough from The Bespin Gambit! Also, once Jabba's Realm comes in, we're totally doing a play of that too- and my figures are painted now (along with me being much better at incorporating a board cam).

Finally, we're currently working on a two part playthrough of the wonderfully misnamed Risk: Star Wars Edition! You can see part 1 of this series now!

Anyway, like I said, I'm always looking for any suggestions as far as the channel goes as well as Star Wars games to play. Thanks, and enjoy Rogue One this week!

edit: Added in the final part of Risk for this week!

Wow, thank you so much. I've always been curious about the board games, and the more hardcore board games in general, and I've definetley looked through some of these videos and bookmarked this thread for future reference.

Thanks, let me know if you have any questions! I really like Rebellion and Imperial Assault, though Rebellion is a bit complicated. Risk is actually really amazing, and cheap too! It's not a bad place to start, if you're just getting into gaming.

    Hey everyone,
Here are our final thoughts on Jabba's Realm. Stay tuned this summer for coverage on the (hopefully) upcoming small box, and as always, we may have some more Star Wars stuff planned for later in the year!
Warning- minor spoilers for Jabba's Realm in the video

I've not managed to play it yet! I'm going to play it in a week or two. I'll leave some feedback here once I've played it :)

hey, I've been thinking of investing in Star Wars Armada. I've never really played a game like that before(and I apologize if it's the wrong thread), it just looks so awesome and like something I'd enjoy starting and collecting the expansion ships... would you folks recommend it to a newbie to tabletop gaming?

Armada does look really cool. I know X-Wing is more popular, but I think it really comes down to what aesthetic you prefer.

I'd also totally suggest Imperial Assault. Those three make up the sort of Holy Trinity of FFG miniature games, though Imp Assault isn't a pure tabletop wargame, also mixing in some dungeon crawler and RPG elements.

Rebellion is a lot of fun, too, though that's more of a board game. As is the newish Risk (not like Risk at all, though).

thanks for the advice. I'm thinking of starting with X-Wing since it's cheaper and seems like an overall better starting point. Armada looks cool as hell and I love the capital ships, but I love the fighters too, so. but my budget being what it is, X-Wing is looking like a better deal for me. Didnt know there was a new Risk, I'll have to check that and Imperial Assault out too.

    Have fun!

I've played a little bit of X-Wing. It's a pretty fun game. It's definitely one of those games that can be deceptively easy to learn how to play, but equally deceptively difficult to master. The movement rules are pretty cool, though, extremely thematic. Plus, it's nice in that there are two coreboxes to choose from (original trilogy and new) and both are compatible with all other components- plus, there are ships from Rebels, Rogue One, Shadows of the Empire, and other Legends content. There's definitely a little something for everyone!

Hey guys, I've just started my Edge of the Empire game with a couple of my friends (I'm the GM), but I was wondering if anyone on here would be interested in starting a new game? I'm honestly just so addicted to it, playing it once a week with my friends isn't enough. I would also rather not GM this game, but would do it if no one else has any experience. Anyone interested?

The new expansion to Imperial Assault and its accompanying packs look fantastic!

Also, the Rebellion expansion looks like it'll be really cool. Last week was a good week to be a FFG Star Wars fan!

Unfortunately, Subtrendy is no longer an active channel, but I hope you all are inspired to check out some of these great games! Heart of the Empire and Rise of the Empire look fantastic, and the new droids wave for Imperial Assault that came out yesterday is very exciting too. Lots of good stuff in tabletop world!

I love board/tabletop games but never get to play them because all through my life I've had friends who just cared nothing about them. Either they don't like games or only like video games. I used to have a lot of cool ones like Hero Quest and Battle Masters but I was only ever to get together one game on each.

I only ever had (well I still have it actually) one Star Wars game and it was Escape From The Death Star...

And like the others I only remember getting a game together once, with one other kid who didn't care anything about Star Wars but played just to humor me. I can't even remember if it was fun.

Don't be too jealous, I haven't gotten anybody interested in a game in decades. But at least I didn't pay much for it, I bought it at a neighborhood garage sale for less than a buck.

That's quite a steal. That's the beauty of tabletop games- not everyone knows their value.

I probably need to go check out more garage sales, myself...

It was also the beauty of the mid to late 80's and early 90's, an otherwise pretty dark period for Star Wars fans. All the old Star Wars merch was being sold off at garage sales, yard sales or just being dumped off at Goodwill stores. Or sometimes my friends would just give me their old Star Wars toys, they didn't care anymore. At Goodwill I bought a mint condition (although out of the box, but I was a kid who wanted to play with it anyway) AT-AT for $5. It wasn't so much that they didn't know what they had as much as what they had wasn't really in that much demand yet. Star Wars wasn't new anymore but it wasn't old enough for the stuff to be all that valuable and there wasn't that much demand for it. Over the course of the early to mid-90s I started to see the prices of loose figures rise from 25 cents at garage sales to $20 at antique and comic book stores.
