The Book of Boba Fett First Trailer Debuts Along With New Poster

    The first trailer for Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett has arrived, showcasing just how dangerous its title bounty hunter can be as he seeks to take over Tatooine's underworld. The Disney Plus series will be arriving this December.





    Boba Fett is the best bounty hunter in the galaxy... Or rather, he used to be. Five years after an uncharacteristically embarrassing defeat on Tatooine, Fett has been presumed dead, but he's making a hell of a comeback tour after Din Djarin helped reunite him with his iconic suit of armor, which was once worn by his father, Jango. Working alongside fellow veteran bounty hunter Fennic Shand, whose life he saved after she was left for dead in the desert, Fett begins to write a new chapter in his life as he reflects on his past.

    The series follows the character's reintroduction in the second season of The Mandalorian, which revealed that he somehow escaped the Sarlaac that ate him. Soon after upholding a promise to help the man who reunited him with the family heirloom, Fett travelled to the palace once owned by Jabba the Hutt and shot his former lackey Bib Fortuna dead as he took the throne. What's next for our brutal anti-hero? Atonement? Revenge? A move to reorganize and take over Jabba's criminal empire? We already have an idea, but take a look for yourself in the trailer below:

    Robert Rodriguez, who oversaw Fett's spectacular return in The Mandalorian's 'Chapter 14: The Tragedy', is serving as the showrunner for The Book of Boba Fett, and is also directing multiple episodes of the series. Fellow Mandalorian alumni Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Bryce Dallas Howard are also confirmed to direct episodes, with Favreau, Filoni, and Kathleen Kennedy once again executive producing the series. The series stars Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennic Shand.



    The Book of Boba Fett is set to begin airing on Disney Plus starting December 29, 2021. Lucasfilm's slate of other Star Wars projects for the streaming service includes the likes of Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, The Acolyte, Lando, A Droid Story, and Rangers of the New Republic, along with The Mandalorian (which is currently filming a third season) and The Bad Batch (a second season of which is well underway), both of which are slated to arrive next year. Hopefully, we'll get more information about the future Star Wars slate on Disney Plus Day, which is on November 12.

    I was really hoping this first look would give us more of a hook. It looks fine, but there's nothing here that really sells me on it yet. Feels like I've seen some version of all of this before.

    EDIT: On second view, there is something that grabs me. Boba talks about ruling through respect rather than fear. But by the end of the trailer, he's clearly ruling through fear. I wonder if this tension will be a major theme, if Boba will have an internal struggle along these lines.

    the poster is fairly by-the-numbers, but does it's job.

    interesting to see a few scuffs and scrapes reappearing on the armour that had only been repainted recently. there's something odd about that Firespray as well... perhaps it's just the perspective and how much of the top and bottom you can see... IDK. over analysing as usual :D

    Slightly underwhelmed by the trailer, but hey, I'm watching this show no matter what's in the trailer, TBH. I'll be keeping my expectations moderate though. ;)

    yeah, fair point... we'd already read that it's very much a revenge piece, so perhaps he's selling the idea of cooperation, but in a BSG Quorum of 12 style riff, will then look to overthrow the lot and sieze power?

    Hmmm... I feel like this is one of those trailers that's good, but didn't quite hook me.

    I'm sure I'll be obsessed with the show, but I think that without major spoilers, there's not much you can do to sell a Boba Fett show that the concept alone doesn't already do.

    Can't wait for December!

    I didn't expect much or I wasn't even really excited for this show, but the teaser trailer looks surprisingly good.

    Visually it looks better than The Mandalorian and I love that there isn't much action. Quite unusual for a trailer these days.

    Nice touch for the Lucasfilm logo as well- having the colours of Boba's armor.

    To narrow down my initial disappoint in the trailer:

    It's not that anything in the trailer is bad. I'm still hyped for this.

    But most great SW trailers give a new but of information to get fans talking: the cross-blade in the TFA teaser, the "it's time for the Jedi to end" in the TLJ teaser, Palpatine's laugh in the TROS teaser, Fennec Shand in the Bad Batch teaser.

    Book of Boba looks great, but this trailer doesn't really give me anything we didn't have. There's not really anything new to talk about.

    Yeah, there is no money shot. But the question is: do we really need one? Often the money shot isn't really special in the finished product itself.

    I guess in the end it's just a "nice to have"-show.

    Well this was a nice surprise as I wasn’t expecting a trailer to drop so early.
    Will have to watch it a few more times to get a true feel for it but I kind of love the low key vibe to this also the lack of any major spoilers in a trailer is in my view a big plus sure gives us a feel for what the show will look like but don’t ruin anything majour.
    Oh & anything with a FireSpray patrol craft in it is for me a good thing..
