In 15 minutes or so I will go to the cantina (well, that one over here at work ) and will choose from Jerk Chicken with rice or a minced meat stew with potatoes.

This evening I get the leftovers from my Sunday cooking out of the fridge: Pork roast in beer sauce with red cabbage and potato dumplings.

I dunno english names of the ingreedients besides bacon, potatoes and wine but its a freshly caught adriatic white fish and some green stuff not a lot unlike the spinach.

Fantastic not only do you have fantastic wines it also looks like a gorgeous place to visit.

The one good thing about not being a major wine producing country is that we have a fantastic range of imported ones though so far I have only tried a Istrian Malvasia from Croatia but I will look out for that one as well.

    A sneak peek:

Žlahtina is my favorite white. But IMO our red ones are better...Dalmatian ones (the coast). Just go for top shelf ones. ;)

I was just catching up here and trying to find the rating that most resembled a drooling enthralled foodie.

I would love to wine and dine my way through Croatia! No fish heads though. :p
And Plitvice is stunning... it looks tropical, but you're a pretty temperate climate, right? I know it doesn't like look that all through Croatia, but is the terrain pretty similar? Mountainous / heavy forest? Sorry for getting a little off topic here... I'll bring it back to food eventually. :D

What kind of cruel joke is it that all the tastiest things are always the worst for you? :(

I walked down to a food truck that is sometimes stationed near my work... they do great BBQ. Pulled pork, brisket, bbq chicken... I usually get a loaded baked potato w/ pulled pork or brisket. It is heavenly.

Buuutttt they weren't cooking today, those bastards. So I had to settle for a meatball sub. :)

I started growing some grapes this year. And the vine has to be at least 20 ft collectively. In october they will be ready, I was wondering what I should do with them. If birds and squirrels dont get to them, it'll be at least a bushel. I was thinking about homemade wine. Its been dry so far, so they should be sweet, but you never really know. Jam is always good too.

Man, you got me with all of his! It’s way too long I’ve been visiting Texas or any other fine state they serve a real good BBQ! And with it there have to be coleslaw for me. A ‘must do’ anytime I’m over there.

My grandad always made wine from it :D
But you need a lot for a good batch, I think.
Making grape juice is an option too. Altho i prefer just eating them. Specialy the white and pink sorts.
I did not know you can make a jam :D

My best friend's mom in high school used to make homemade wine. She would give me a couple of jars every once in a while. It was some amazing stuff. Fairly simple process, no harder than baking bread.
You're right meybe not jam, but a pectin based jelly.

Recipes for homemade jam, jelly and marmalades would make a fine addition to this thread!
