The beans are about to flower.
    20200810_113038.jpg
OK so the peppers may look that apatising but hopefully they will taste great
    20200810_113007.jpg
Tided up the tomatoes a bit so now they should get even.more sunlight & start to ripean a bit quicker
    20200810_113022.jpg
the courgettes are doing really well 2 of them should be ready in a couple of days with quite a few flowers still developing so should hopefully have more either by the weekend or early next week

They look great! I'm positive there will be enough time and hot temperatures for the flowers to develope!

Here's a picture of the mint and oregano, we managed to keep them alive, they are even blooming:

Peppers, tomatoes, and strawberries. We also had grass and a tree, but the tree died and most of the grass is dead.

Martha Stewart's buttermilk pancake recipe is quite possibly the best buttermilk pancake recipe I've ever cooked with.

    https://www.marthastewart.com/318689/best-buttermilk-pancakes

Natasha's Kitchen's lasagna recipe is also really delicious!

Quick tips: Double the amount of meat the recipe calls for and all of the spices that go in it (except the sugar*), add garlic powder to taste, and it's totally fine to add some asiago (shredded or torn up deli slices) into the cheese mixture. DO NOT SCRIMP ON THE PARSLEY OR THYME. ALWAYS USE WINE.

Honestly, I haven't had a bad Natasha's Kitchen recipe. There were some that didn't fully work (chocolate cake is not my forte), and some that I didn't like due to preference (the lemon ricotta pancakes were just so weird to me) but none were ever bad.

Oh! And don't sleep on the fish tacos! Double the amount of seasoning per fish or half the amount of fish used per batch; the amount of seasoning given isn't really enough to fully coat everything otherwise.

    Future stuff:

I'll be trying out Natasha's new fudge brownie recipe sometime this week. I meant to make it last night, but priorities, delays, and an emergency call (everything was and is fine, but it made for a tense end to the night) forced me to push it back. I'll probably try it tomorrow or Tuesday.

Above is my go-to "decadent syrupy breakfast treat." It's good. Some have even called it great. But I want more, and I think I figured out how to get there. Binging With Babish's French Toast episode talks about making the custard more decadent via egg yolks** and heavy cream. What I think I'll do is add an extra egg yolk and substitute half of the milk for heavy cream and the other half for melted ice cream. (I'm leaning towards vanilla, but other flavor recs are welcome! So long as it's not a fruit flavor.) Hopefully it'll add that extra unnecessary layer of richness I'm looking for!

I really want to make this and add turn the frosting into a matcha cream cheese frosting. The green exterior and the red-orange interior would feel so much like Christmas! It'd be great! But I'm not sure if matcha matches the flavor profile...or if I'd even like the cake. But hey, cooking's an adventure!

Someday I'd like to make a Baked Alaska. It's been one of my cooking ambitions since I was in junior high. And I think a few months ago I found the perfect flavor combination - Tres Leches cake with Black Sesame ice cream. I won't be making this anytime soon, but I thought I'd put it here anyways.

*Feel free to double the sugar if you want, but I didn't the past two times and it turned out fine.
**This goes for most custard treats. I've done this for rice pudding, and it turned out extremely rich and decadent.
