I finally made the breakfast sandwich from Birds of Prey and Champurrado! The Champurrado fought me every step of the way and frankly wasn't worth the trouble, but I like the idea so I'll try it again sometime. (I'll probably combine it with a few other things and modify the recipe.)

The breakfast sandwich was worth it's weight in gold. But that's not surprising. It had fried eggs (great), cheese (great), some Valentia Mexican hot sauce (great), applewood-smoked bacon (great), and ciabatta bread (great). My mom was so intruiged by the idea she made a sandwich for herself and proceeded to state it was the best egg sandwich she ever had. I'm seriously considering making this again tomorrow. I have the right amount of ciabatta bread rolls to justify it, but I may need to go buy some more bacon...

It's a blessing in disguise, I would say. We have been cooking a lot of Japanese and Asian stuff lately, so loads of leafy greens and healthy soup- instead of making Lasagna or cookies.

And we didn't buy a Turkey or other meat, so we saved some money too.

Wow you had me at soba noodles! Love cilantro and everything else in that dish. Looks superb!

So if we ever make it to Germany to research my family history can we stop in for a meal? Or two? I will do the dishes!!

 

Thanks! I feel like it has become a lot easier to get all the ingredients to cook authentic asian recipes nowadays, so it's lots of fun!

FANTASTIC! And I am not even talking about the Vader stuff on the left

 

Haha! I think I have never baked Vanillekipferl myself, with my mum back then when I was a kid, yes, but never have I baked Vanillekipferl alone or with my Sweetheart.

Looking at the picture- you're Kipferls are huge! Normally they're half the size than the ones you made : D so how did you like the Kipferl? Did you like the taste? They really go well with Coffee, Imo.

Yeah! The Spatula is great!!

 

Ok @oldbert @RockyRoadHux here is my cookie plate for dessert just now. From upper left going clockwise- Polish Kolache (butter cookie with jam inside), thumbprint cookie (butter cookie with walnuts and jam), choc chip, two peanut blossoms, and the vanillekipferl, which is awesome!
