Thanks, I'll give that a shot!

Unfortunately, I didn't snap a pic of this week's board that way, but it was still the most ambitious one yet-

Four boards, three dips, four meats, five cheeses, and some incredible garlic bread!

    Et tu, General? :(

Great effort! Very nice presentation... only a slight points reduction for being unmindful about those waterrings on the countertop. ;)

    Hmpff... still no redemption-points! :D

Haha, I blame everyone else for that! :p

Here I am trying to prepare the spread as fresh as possible, having just pulled the garlic bread out of the oven, when I turn around to see my wife and friends preparing things that could've been made hours ago. We had to get those boards on the table ASAP ;)

    How rude!
Preferably one uses both a fork and a spoon, but when given only one of them, one would think a fork would be the more obvious choice!:D

    Lol! :p

That moment when you find out that, how ever lovely and well-meaning though they are, your wife and friends are totally useless... :(

Good help is always hardest to find!

You have my sympathies @cawatrooper! ;)

I have always been team pineapple pizza! It's almost as good as Chinese sweet and sour pork dumplings with pineapple ... What is there not to like?

You mean Italian style flatbread with pineapple? :D

Don't get me wrong, I love myself some pineapple, but as soon as it lands on a pizza, that is no longer a pizza!
    Ask any Italian!!

And I must admit, Chinese sweet and sour dumplings with pineapple sounds pretty yummie! :p

I gotta say, more power to ya for whatever you like, but pinapple should always be fresh in my opinion.

I made a pretty delicious drink a few weeks ago that incorporated it- vodka, diet sprite, sugar-free coconut syrup, and sugar-free coconut syrup. Garnished with a slice of lime, cherries in the bottom, and a skewer with fresh pineapple. It was really refreshing, and definitely gave me the "It's not freezing outside, it's still summer" vibe lies that my psyche needed.

    @cawatrooper

I don't like the taste of pineapple combined with cherries, because just like a lemon, pineapple has this sour and that bit of a frizzy taste that goes well with savory dishes but don't goes well with cherries. The taste of pineapple is totally overpowering... Cherries should be served with whipped cream or used for cherry pie imo.

Yeah, that's true, yes it's not Italian but Greek. That's what Google says

But the Hawaiian pizza, topped with ham and pineapple, was not an Italian invention. ... The pizza was actually created in Canada in 1962 by a Greek immigrant called Sam Panopoulos. Panopoulos, along with his brothers, owned a restaurant in the state of Ontario.

And the predecessor of the Pizza is the Greek Pita. All comes full circle. #PinapplePizzaIsAwesome

Ohww... Vanilla icecream in a bowl, with warm cherries, a generous helping of Kirsch and a big clot of whipped cream on top... Oh yum! :p
Cherry pie with whipped cream will also do nicely. ;)

    So it's actually Greco-Canadian? :D
Still.... it's not a "Pizza"!

Nice try @NinjaRen ... but the Pita (or Pide/Khubz) is of Arabic origin!
Often filled with Shawarma (or Shoarma as it is spelled here in the NL) made from Lamb, Chicken or Veal! (In the NL it's usually [perhaps very counterintuitively] made from Pork!)

    The Pita Shoarma (Pork)

During the Ottoman occupation of the Mediterranean, that dish along with the Pita was introduced to the Greek. They turned the Pita into a "pocketless", slightly more bulbous and more fluffy flatbread, which is now known as the Greek Pita. These (as the name suggests) don't have the natural airpocket that the Arabic Pita has. Sometimes it's cut open and filled, sometimes it is topped with something or other and sometimes pieces are torn off to be eaten with a dish.

The Italian Pizza however, is probably derived from a different (Turkish) dish (Like the Lahmacun [pronounced as Lahmadzjoun]), that uses a different type of Pide. It gets the additional, fresh ingredients on top of the pastry, before the baking process! Iinstead of inside, after baking.

Of course it's a pizza, every other Italian restaurant has it on the menu list.

Minus the Kirsch and I'm fine :D

Just to pander the ignorent, paying customer...
A real Italian would die before he'd insult his heritage by putting Pineapple on a Pizza!!

Ah... so no alcohol for you? That is ofcourse your prerogative and totally understandable. :)

The Kirsch is just an option, it is just as yummie without. :p
