It's mad to think that in a short amount of time, the two years of speculation and theories will be over, and new ones will begin. I always love this part of SW fandom, the fever pitch before the huge storm. Nothing will ever beat the surreal hype in the months and weeks leading up to TFA, but it's always so much fun to hear everyone's thoughts.

Got an 11am showing on December 14th - partly to avoid spoilers for as short a time as possible, and also baby sitting times (those padawans...) TFA the night before for me, lots of Battlefront 2, soundtracks and hoovering up all the SW literature as possible.

I'm just gonna be at the theater selling PorgCorn with butter and a big tall glass of Porgsi to wash it down with.

I'm probably going to see it the weekend of release with my brother, once a couple buddies of mine are in the area for Christmas. All of us have met up for TFA and R1, and no reason to break a tradition that's worked so far, right? I also intend to watch TFA the night before.

I'm debating whether I want to listen to The Last Jedi's soundtrack before seeing the film. I tried not to do that with TFA, but my brother was blasting the music from his phone. So if he's done that before I see this one, I'll give the soundtrack some listens. If not, I'm going to wait to hear it in context.

18?! Well, now we're talking. It really does seem close when you look at it. Gotta make it to Thursday and then it's only 2 weeks!!!

As for doing something special, I'm preparing an Offline Hype Machine. :p A collection of all things TLJ (trailers, interviews, pictures) that will remind me of every stage of this exciting 2-year long buildup and I will use it to hype myself up when I'm offline (I'll go 100% dark on the day of the world premiere - no social media, no Cantina etc.). I really want to revisit my mindset from back then, remember all the questions I had seeing certain set photos/videos and I think that this collection will help bringing it all back.

It's weird, but in a way I feel more hyped than in the case of TFA. TFA was big because of the "Star Wars is back" aspect, but it was like heading into a great unknown, which was kind of stressful when I think about it now. This time I'm extremely excited for the film itself, because there's more evidence it's going to be amazing. I'm convinced I'm going to love it and I already feel at home with this trilogy. Also, we already know the characters and care about them going into it, which makes for a more emotional experience. It's like TV - certain twists make a huge impact on you, because you had a number of seasons to get emotionally attached to something.

Oh. One more thing. I will certainly keep blasting this song throughout the next 17 days:

Just because of this very Tweet... :) It was such a blow when they pushed the release and because of him tweeting that, I forever associated the song with the wait for Episode 8... Gosh, it literally felt like eternity back then. And here we are. Crazy.

Im not doing anything special I don't guess. My GF, cousin and her family having being going together since TFA. We are going to a theater in a town about 40 mins away so we will probably go out to eat before. I don't know if it will be a nice sit down meal of a Chic Fil A kinda thing. For the TFA, we went to Kick Back Jack's and it took the waitress forever to bring the checks and change. The lights were down and previews had started before we got in. Needless to say it was packed and we had to sit in the front row. I don't plan on a repeat.

I'll probably hold off on coming here or looking at other SW news once the world premier to help avoid any major spoilers.

I couldn't have put it in a better way myself. So many already have it mapped out what it should be that they will have a difficult time accepting what it is.

I am 43 and I have been there with every step with you. Yes there are vocal types who have issues with how some things have gone, but the majority of fans, even if something bends them wrong, adapt and roll with it. There are a bunch of things that rub me wrong about the mythos, but overall it is my favorite thing on this planet that is not my family.

There will always be division. The part that is hard, especially in 2017, is that remembering that differences in opinions or outlook does not mean that the other person is stupid or needs to be an enemy.

It'll be the midnight showing on release day for me, I'm not having some assbag spoil it so... 1st available showing and I'm there with bells on lol. I might walk out of the theatre on my phone and casually mention an anti-spoiler rather loudly just to piss off anyone waiting to go in lol. That would make me smile :D oj I wouldn't dare I'd be dead before I took more than 2 steps lol. Although for the rey soloists it might be worth it :p

I'm not seeing the midnight release but I am seeing it on opening day. I've already watched TFA a few times already and reading Lords of the Sith (really good btw, 10/10 would recommend). I plan on re watching all the movies leading up to the TLJ. Honestly i'm not worried about spoilers for the midnight release since I don't have class or work that day. I just plan on staying off social media to avoid spoilers altogether, and not talking to anyone. I'm going to be living under a rock the entire day. I'm just so excited it's all I've been talking about!

My brother and I are seeing a double feature of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi on the 14th. The waiting is unbearable and I can't wait to finally get some answers after 2 YEARS of speculation! And I will totally be watching the red carpet livestream. Fingers crossed for a spoiler free 2 and half weeks!

I'm seeing it on the 14th and will see it a second time with a group of friends a couple of days later. I'm planning on rewatching all 8 movies before going to see this one, but when depends completely on when I have finals.

Right now I'm binge watching TCW (rewatched Rebels before Season 4 premiered) and have been having a canon reading marathon since late July. I've got over a hundred pages of Aftermath: Empire's End and will start rereading Bloodline starting this week.

So yeah, just over two more weeks to end two years of waiting!

Absolutely! Take in every single word the cast and RJ have to offer, and I assume GL will be turning up to (perhaps giving us a preview of his opinions, assuming that he’s already seen the film?).

And then...silence. I’ll be going offline immediately after, but will have been tip-toeing around because of how the Japanese premiere is two days before the world premiere (which still doesn’t make much sense)

What I can recall from all the arguments and discussions before TFA came out are non existent once the film came out
Great book, still wondering if any of the stories will connect with the film... 3 weeks, two more weekends and 4 days... 16 days left can't wait.

the 'special' thing that i'll be doing on the 14th is running the gauntlet...

    i have tickets for 8:20pm.
I finish work at 5:30pm and i'm in one of the worst traffic spots in the whole of the UK.. takes me an average of 90 minutes to get home. If there is any kind of incident near me (which is frequent) then i'm in deep poodoo.

i'll be taking a change of clothes and toiletries into work that day, as i may be going straight to the cinema!

i can't get the day off or leave early... i may need a bit of luck on the 14th !

I feel your pain sir... when TFA came out I was working in Potters Bar and living in Southsea, in traffic that's a 3hr commute. The day I was going to the movie I ended up leaving work late due to an over-running meeting, but somehow the Gods smiled on me and I was home in 2hrs20 and strolled in to take my seat as the last trailer was ending. I never usually get that kinda luck!

This year I'm safe, thanks to the location of my new job, I leave the car at the office and the cinema is less than 5mins walk away. I've also blocked the last hour of 14th in my calendar as a private appointment so no-one can steal my time! :D

my office is only 17 miles away from my home.. and my cinema is also just a few minutes away from home.

should be a doddle right? 17 miles... unfortunately i work right by the QE2 bridge in dartford and this whole area is a [bleepin] disaster in the afternoons.

should be 30 minutes tops, but one broken down vehicle and it becomes 2hrs. if a tunnel is closed for something more serious.. could be stuck here all evening.
    bloody place :(

please don't ask me why i do it... i'm an idiot
