"And then, so, at some point, Kylo Ren and Rey gotta have something more going down. I don’t know if it’s romance, if it’s complete hatred, if it’s you know, but, erm…I know, we can’t talk about it, there’s certain things we’ve heard – and it’s not romance, it’s not romance, but there’s certain things that we’ve heard recently about what’s going down and what Rey, how Rey feels –“

“Yeah, let’s just leave it at that.”

    Did he torture Rey?

Torture is inflicting pain to punish someone or coerce someone into telling you something or doing something. That isn't why Kylo did. Kylo use a force technique to get the information the he needed from Poe and Rey. The pain seemed to be a result of what he was actually doing, not the point of it. When the police questino someone, they are often handcuffed (for the police's protection), handcuffs hurt. They aren't torturing the person. What Kylo did to Poe and Rey is more in line with that. What he is doing just happens to hurt, he isn't trying to cause pain to get the result he wants.

Why all the discussions about "Reylo" and no one talks about the Force Awakens Love Master..........

    ............... FINN !!!!!!!!!!!!

In Episode VIII the Love Relationship will be between:

    - Finn and Rey (Traditional Love Story)
    - Finn and Poe (Modern Love Story)
    - Finn and Maz (The Little Girl has some sexy appetite)
    - Finn and Kylo/Ben (following the Sado-Maso trend on this forum thread)
    - Finn and Hux (well, to me a single guy with a cat has very high tendencies to fell in love for another guy)
    - Finn and Snoke (my personnal favorite, because they SNUGGLE)

Don't forget about Captain Phasma and Kelly Marie Tran's character. Finn has definitely a lot to choose from.

More important than the wording of "mysterious" and "strange" for the connection Rey and Ben/Kylo apparently share as per the databank updates is the wording that their destinies are somehow intertwined.
    destinies intertwined.jpg
Now, destiny is a far stronger implication I would say. And I will also add that something that we should all keep in mind is not to look at how the ST plays out but look at it in the context and perspective of the saga as a whole - i.e. 9 films are connected. (And Colin Trevorrow also has said that the way he sees IX, the film he is writing and directing, is how it connects with all the previous films).

So when it comes to destinies and how the story in the ST connects with the previous two trilogies and ties together the saga as a whole, there is one person that, the more I think about it the more logical it seems, simply has to be involved and that is Obi-Wan Kenobi. They named Han and Leia's son after him, and I think that is an overlooked direct hint, but surely there will be Kenobi link in this trilogy as well I'm certain of it and no I don't think it will be just Force Ghost Kenobi only...

The saga is about legacy and family - this will be valid for both Kylo/Ben with his legacy as Anakin/Vader's grandson, but I strongly believe it will be about Rey's legacy as well and my gut feeling is that her legacy is that of a Kenobi, somehow...
I know (and very surprising to me) that Ben Kenobi is not as popular theory as I think it should be, but something tells me that after VIII people will understand that they have overlooked something that was very obvious...

In any case. Rey and Ben have a connection, it is mysterious, their destinies are intertwined. The question is what that connection is and without any doubt that is the central question of this ST. Is it familial and Rey is Ben/Kylo's lost sister (which is a very fine outcome, but with what actually is presented in TFA this is a very unlikely outcome at this point, but not entirely ruled out) or their mysterious connection has a far more complex character.

The Yin and Yang thing is fine and is a valid thing, but story wise one must answer how exactly does the story in the ST fit within the context of the whole saga. Vader's legacy seems to still loom large in the GFFA, my gut feeling tells me that Kenobi's legacy is not done yet either.

That's my two cents. I'm speculating, of course, but I know I'm right or very close to it. ;)

The amount of Kenobi that exists shrank with every movie after III.

    (alleged times in graphic)

Darth Vader is the guy still talked about and shown his 'remains' in VII.

Yeah, Kenobi's just not a prime player anymore in the story. He's just an easter egg in VII. People new to Star Wars have no idea who he is.

P.S. I hope you are aware that the PT where Obi-Wan is indeed a "prime player" has been made after the OT where he appears to not be a "prime player" even though I would strongly disagree as without him Luke would probably still be at Tosche station. Also, I would like to point out that screen time doesn't equal story importance. Prime example - Emperor Palpatine.
And if Rey is a Kenobi his presence in retrospect even in TFA will surely not be just an "easter egg" appearance surely?! Just a food for thought.

The two mostly talented force wielders in this "dark" times (when it comes to manifestations of the force in humans) running through a mentoring program of the only (known) old stars of the force (Schnockee and Luckee).

From the perspective of an awaking force, a new force restart, the kids being extremely talented with the force is enough to somehow "bind their destinies" and if it's just as force antagonist and protagonist.

Rey is Keylos antagonist, because he fears to be confronted with his lighter side and Rey has to fully overcome her (in tfa shown) lack of confidence in becoming a force hero. The fuel for Rey could be revenge at beginning and may be transformed later on.

One "helps" the other to fully develop his/her potential.

Imo you do not need more of a connection to tell a good fantasy story.

    i agree with you, @oldbert!
a blood relation is not strictly necessary for the story to work and for them to actualize their goals (personal and for the galaxy).
a romance is also not strictly necessary, though it does add immediate and scorching dramatic tension (look at all the tension it adds here at the Cantina! hahaha).

What romance could be considered "scandalous" in Episode 8 ? ;)

"I'm not giving you anything" (a kiss)
    "We'll see"

    We'll see in Episode 8 and 9 ? ;)

because Ren Ben is such a paradigm of generous and selfless humility?
the whole galaxy revolves around that kid so far as he's concerned and he's willing to burn it down if it doesn't bend to his will. hahahaha

No. Because she rather judges him based on what is served to her by half truths and vague statements of his accusers. History is wrritten by winners and good is a point of view. In my opinion.
Why is he willing to burn down the galaxy?
