    I have a question.

    We all know about the dark side and the light. Yet, i do not reacall WHEN we heard about the "light side" ..iow..when was it referenced as such in the movies?

    AS far as I remember, the jedi always talked about the Force and to beware of the dark side , yet I do not remember referencing to the "light" as such. There was always a distinction of good vs bad but where did we hear about the "LIGHT SIDE"?

    In TFA, we hear about the dark side AND the light , and as far as I remember it's the first time (in the movies)

    To my knowledge it was never called the light side in the movies, just the force. I believe it was only called the light side in most of the EU. Maybe JJ and friends some something cool and creative for it saying this is the first times in the movies someone said "the light side."

    Luke said it in episode 6 to leia before he left endor. About bringing vader back to "the light side" or did he say "good side" ? Can't remember

    A quick search of the RotJ script shows both Luke and Ben use the terms 'good side'....

    Yes that guilt of losing the opportunity to defeat the sith before they could get started all those years still weighed on him, but his vision of Luke & Leia's existence proved all was not lost.

    I honk yoda could've beaten him, it just would have required a level of aggression and anger that would have brought him to close to the dark side. That says a lot about Yoda's devotion to the light side of the force.

    I think Yoda is not the god of jedi and he simply lost a fight. Revenge of the sith means it's the sith's turn to kick some butt. I mean if that's the case then jedi should not engage in combat at all. My outlook on this is that the story of the force itself will move forward and evolve into more of a one force and not the good light side or the bad dark side. More so, different aspects of the force being used for different reasons and why. In a nutshell, I feel that the force is basically going to end up more grey than anything and protagonists will not be squeaky clean and bad guys will not be point blank .......evil. It's going to get a little more in depth.
