GAME The Definitive Cantina Saga Ranking

All right everyone. We've talked about it at length. We've argued their merits and faults. Now its time to go on the record with your choices.

We have a number of threads on this topic, but this thread is intended to compile all of our rankings into one deliverable result. In this thread I will be compiling the definitive ranking of the 7 Star Wars theatrical films as determined by Cantina patrons. If we get significant participation we should get a pretty accurate picture of what the Cantina thinks of the Star Wars saga and how they rank for our particular hive of scum and villainy.

Here are the rules:
1. List the 7 films in order from best to worst
2. No ties and no omissions or additions. If you you list more or less than seven ranked films in order your choices will be thrown out.
3. No arguments. There are a great many threads to berate each other about the quality of various films. This is not that thread. If you want to debate your choices, then head to another thread to do so. There should be something already in existence to fit everyone's preferences. From Jar-Jr is the Devil, to Die! Teddy Bear Ewoks Die!, to Rehash! Reboot! Refund!, everyone should be able to find a thread elsewhere to make their true feelings known.

If this thread gets too bulky I won't be able to keep up with the rankings. Any posts that veer off of rankings or direct questions about how to rank may be deleted.

The points for your ranked films:
1st: 7 points
2nd: 6 points
3rd: 5 points
4th: 4 points
5th: 3 points
6th: 2 points
7th: 1 point

I will compile the point totals for each film and update this post periodically with our Cantina-wide rankings. Pretty straight forward, but if there are any questions please post them below.

2. A New Hope
3. Return of the Jedi
4. The Force Awakens
5. The Phantom Menace
6. Revenge of the Sith
7. Attack of the Clones

Interesting. The reason I originally didn't do something like that was because past ranking threads have had alot of people saying they consider the saga one big movie. That its more like 1a,1b,1c rather than 1,2,3. While weighting the top 3 with more points would work for those who see a significant distance between 1 and 7, it might be seen as unfairly harsh against the lower films if you think they are all great, but with only minor factors setting them apart.

I'm open to it though. If there's enough people who think its better weighted in this manner, I'll update the points. We're still early enough along that it won't be too hard to go back and make changes.

 

OP has been updated as we have reached an even 10 votes. RotS has caught up and moved into a dead heat tie with TPM for 5th place. Meanwhile ESB continues to distance itself from the pack for the easy lead.

We also have a good race for the 2-4 spots with only three points separating RotJ from ANH and the rookie TFA only another 4 points behind that. Will the upstart from the Sequel trilogy unseat on of the holy trinity of the OT in the top 3? And I know there's some PT first people out there. Come in and vote so you can close that gap.
