In any work of science fiction, fantasy or science fantasy, you are bound to find stupid names. Names that just sound so fake and so silly that you can't help but laugh. So let's talk about that.

Now, here's a few ground rules:
    1) You can use Canon (i.e., Return of the Jedi) or Legends (i.e., Knights of the Old Republic) sources. Anything that was made to be non-canon (i.e., Skippy the Jedi Droid) is not allowed. So no, you can't cite George R. Binks, the non-canon father to Jar Jar.
    2) Unless it makes some sort of pun, intentionally or not, or it is such a blatant reference that it stands out like a sore thumb, don't cite names that are serial number in nature, such as R2-D2, CT-5555, or FN-2187. I know, I'm not using it either, but still.
    3) Remember, this is all in good fun. Don't be insulted if someone thinks a name you like is stupid.

Also, you are free to make fun of names for organizations, ships, and the like.

    Okay, let's begin shall we.

    Here are some of mine:
Count Dooku ("son of Lord and Lady Poopy")
    Pooja Naberrie...yes, Pooja.
Wicket W. Warrick (I love it, but it is so stupid)

I leave the rest to you, my friends. May the Force be with you.

EU has quite a fill of stupid first names, especially those first names retroactively pinned to OT characters.

    "Wilhuff" Tarkin

I'm Wilhelm (German name) and I huff and puff or what?

    "Maximilian" Veers

At least that first name is pure, but apparently of German and/or Austrian origin, too

    "Wullf" Yularen

Apparently they hesitated to use "Wolf" as in the German name "Wolfgang". So instead we get an exotic variation.

    "Conan Antonio" Motti

Our ANH admiral has apparently Italian roots mixed with Austrian elements (can't help but to think of Arnold Schwarzenegger, at least "Conan Arnold" would have been funny)

    Boba Fett.

Sounds like Baby Foot mispronounced. Seriously, who the hell would name their clone Boba?

Maximilian was Robespierre's first name and Veers is clearly from Netherlands.

Wait, I forgot a big one:
    Sheev Palpatine. SHEEV.
I've seen a fun game where you replace every time that "The Emperor" is said in the original trilogy with "Sheev" and it instantly becomes funny:
    Sheev/Annie 19 BBY

That's what happens when Conan O'Brien puts George Lucas on the spot. The funniest part about that is the book Death Star was about to be published and the writer came up with a name for first name Motti (as he hadn't had one in nearly 35 years). They heard about the interview and they rushed to correct the book. They only missed one instance.
Oh, it was originally going to be the even dumber "Zi". Yes, Admiral Zi Motti.

"Package for a Mr. Bob A. Feet?"

Don't forget Commander Nefarious, Captain I'm a Bad Guy, and Admiral Bone to Pick.

Those last three sound made up and "Cin Drallig" is Nick Gillard spelled backwards and he was the fight/stunt choreographer for The PT .

    They aren't:
Greeata Jendowanian - the female Rodian dancer from the Special Edition of Jedi
Xamuel Lennox - the Imperial officer in Empire who said, "Good, our first catch of the day."*
Mama the Hutt - the mother of Ziro the Hutt and grandmother of Jabba. Also, that's not really stupid as that's not her real name and only her children would call her that.

*name currently not canon (as of 17 April 2016)
