I thought that was just a vision. From what I remember, Rey goes over to the mirror/wall and stays there and has a vision. I don't think this is the same as walking into a nonexistent room or a room that exists outside of physical space.

I also have to wonder two things:

Does it make sense to keep the wayfinder in some special extra-spacial plain and not just in a normal, physical room?

Were the architects told to put a door in the wall that opens into space? Or that opens and there's just a wall behind it?

I think it's just an old fashioned mistake. Or rather, an intentional mistake. I'm pretty sure they knew it shouldn't be there and just didn't care.

We don’t really know what that place is. Is it all an illusion? Is it a separate dimensional space? Is she just standing there the whole time? Is she actually somehow transported within that mirrored plain? Mentally, physically? We don’t know and likely aren’t meant to. It’s this ill-defined, seemingly infinite void though. ‘Wiggle room’ is alls I’m sayin’.
Does it make sense he’d bother bringing it with him to DS2 at all? I mean, he wasn’t moving in there. So why not leave it at home? If he’s gonna go through the trouble of hiding this thing at all, then some abstruse pocket reality is as sensible a spot as anything else.
Maybe so. Their boss was a villainous warlock. I’m sure he made a lot of oddball demands that had no practical purpose beyond serving his creepy cult fetishes.
Probably. Could be that scene was originally supposed to take place somewhere else and was moved there to be more efficient, but the continuity doesn’t quite match up. Happens sometimes.

Maybe Palpatine was the Star Wars version of Sarah Lockwood Pardee Winchester? Maybe the DS2 was the Star Wars version of the Winchester Mystery House!

This explains why the DS2 was so much larger than the DS1...

As for why it was in the DS2 at all... It was obviously made up long after ROTJ, but I suppose (in universe) he kept it there in case he had to get to Exegol and he didn't actually know how to navigate the orange-goo-space area. Or, he may need to have Vader use it to get there. Or someone else. It could be that he never actually went to Exegol and he really did live on the DS2. I don't know. It's mysterious for sure.

The Sequel trilogy takes place in an entirely different universe than the PT and OT. Until I die, you cannot convince me otherwise. LOL. So, we have never actually seen the DS2 in TROS before, as it does not the exact version as the one we see in ROTJ.. ;-)

    How I wish...

Star Wars isn't even real. It's a shared delusion created by the World Governments to keep us placated and busy focused on fictional uprisings so we never take the time or energy to organize our own as they continually drain us of everything and cushion themselves further apart from the "working" classes.

I almost agree, but I say there are seven.

I canonized Rogue One because it is, frankly, awesome.

I kind of agree, but to me they're eight:

    OT, ST, RO and Solo.
