The Ending of SW: The Force Awakens.

Doesn't some of this go against the recent podcast and S7N thoughts of what they think Luke's role in Act III will be?

 

I believe that the concrete part of the podcast and the S7N info was the Bespin flashback and the part about Luke's involvement was speculation on some unconfirmed rumors. If I am mistaken on this comment I apologize and don't mind being corrected.

 

There are loads of so called endings been banded around. I think people can choose which theory they believe is true, if it goes against some views of the mods on here, so be it. Its not about taking sides in which spoilers you deem to be truthful. Lets just wait and see shall we

 

Where is Han?
What about The First Order & the big WMD?
Does Poe & the Black X Wing squad/dam busters blow it up?
Will Hux & Plasma live? I doubt it, .
Where are C3PO & R2D2? I hope they have bigger roles than just featured extras or "hey remember this" dreck.
I know Nien Nubb & ADM Akbar are a "go" but what of Mon Marta or the remaining Resistance?
Does the WMD attack damage cause the planet earthquake or unstable seismic activity?
That all sounds very Star Treky to me, (cough) JJ (cough) .

 

There is something sort of weak about this ending.. I know it is the one mostly parroted around everywhere but at this stage it is still a complete guess by everybody. I am sure a few things albeit small will happen that will make the ending great.

 

It's pretty much the ending just after Han dies.

 

Most star wars films (All?) have multiple climactic battles going on at once. So I would imagine IF the final battle is the one where Han dies, then we will also have a Poe dameron space/sky battle simultaneously and also some other kind of third scene (Luke fighting force ghosts/spirits anyone?) And the final scene/s will have to resolve multiple storylines EG: Rey's training under Master skywalker/ Hans funeral/ Kylo Renn doing something, finding some relic.....) I don't think it will be as strait forward as a simple Luke skywalker reveal alone, that would seem kinda un starwars ish to me, all the characters need an ending.

 

How come Chewie doesn't want to see missing Luke, and only Rey gets off the ship to go see him? Wouldn't Chewie want to see a very good old friend he hasn't seen in 30 years?

 

I think there's a first small battle on Maz's planet (Poe in the blue-white X-Wing in the teasers) that allows the heroes to escape.

Then a bigger space battle above the Starkiller planet (Poe again), plus probably a smaller ground assault (to destroy the First Order weapon); at the start of these we get Han vs. Kylo, and then while the major battles are winding down we get the Finn/Rey/Kylo duel.

 

This ending sucks. All that stuff goes down and Luke is hiding in some cave somewhere. And we're left with no explanation as to why until VIII. I certainly can't come up with anything to justify laying low while your buddy(brother-in-law) is murdered while doing your job.

I really don't understand the problem folks have with this ending. The duel in the forest looks and sounds amazing, and the last bit with Luke gives me goosebumps. Keep in mind that a lot of this will be cutting back and forth with the space battle. I'm REALLY happy at how this is shaping up.

 

Especially if he just lost his long-standing shipmate. No, something missing here I think....

 

Did you see what happened when the Jedi tried to fight the Republic's war with the separatists? It just about destroyed them entirely.
What if Luke's priority was the rebuilding of the Jedi Order? Would he be willing to risk it's destruction again just to save his friends?

I think that post-ROTJ, Luke found himself in this kind of situation. Rumours suggest he started training new Jedi, but that his academy was attacked. What would that do to him?

That TFA notebook showed Chewbacca on what looked like some sort of rocky beach which doesn't really seem to fit any other known location... perhaps he does go there but just wasn't needed for the Skellig Michael shoot?

 

This does suck. 2 second Luke cameo, no original cast interaction, and now there never will be in other movies because Han will be dead. There's no reason why the film couldn't have focused on the new characters and still had the original trilogy cast in minor roles but given them like a half hour of screen time each. This sucks if true. I would not want to be known as the guy who gave Luke only a 2 second cameo, never had the original cast interact with each other, AND killed Han Solo all in the sequel to Return Of The Jedi after 30 years.

Guess Abrams doesn't mind though.

No, Viral said the luke "jumping in" to the Kylo v Finn/Rey fight was just a rumour from a source, but the other stuff, luke bespin costume, bespin flashback plus other flashback to academy etc were all legit.

I thought so, quite a spoiler, I wonder were will Han be buried on, Corellia?

 

Maybe it will be a space burial? Or maybe they'll have funeral pyre? Cremation seems to be popular for Star Wars funerals...

This is assuming that they are able to recover his body.
