The Flashback trilogy ..

I think (and hope) we will get something more of those situations. Briefly I supouse, like previous episodes. I like flashbacks in SW.
But definetly they have to make a spinoff about those interesting events, with actors still alive... But I guess they will make comics or books covering that.

 

Kylo Ren could dream about that night and then he awakes:

Enter the troll master himself, Luke Skywalker: "Sweet dreams, nephew?"

First I 've read the @Luke's beard OP and wondered "a flashback to explain the Knights of Ren, what a cool idea!"
Then I entered the @Madmartigan second post : "a spinoff to explain the Knights of Ren, what a better idea!"
Then I entered the @NinjaRen third post and I thought Anakin's ghost visiting Kylo's dream would make more sense, because Anakin had also these dreams, and because Kylo prosstrated himself in front of Vader rather than Luke...

Though I liked the force-back vision in TFA very much, I don't need to see Ben's fall on screen and I don't want the story spoon-fed to me that way.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if we get more details about that night. A slaughter scene reminiscent of Anikans in the Jedi Temple would be amazing. Plus it would be awesome to see some of the students join him and why they did so. Personally, I am not convinced all the members of the Knight of Ren are evil or bad. I think some are being manipulated by Kylo and will turn on him at some point in the movie.

Also, there are people who think this part of Rey's vision is actually the future and not the past, which I tend to agree with. It would be amazing if at this point some of the Knights turn on Kylo and join with Rey in an epic rain-soaked final battle.

 

It's more likely that one of the Knights will try to kill Rey, but Kylo stops him and a big fight opens.

 

Are you implying that Kylo goes back to the light side? Personally, I'm kind of on the fence about him being redeemed.

 

Oh maybe that's the core of it all. In an echo of his inability to "push the button/pull the trigger" on Leia, Kylo will be forced (pun intended?) to choose between the FO and Galactic Supremacy, and Rey. He chooses Rey. He makes the opposite decision of his grandfather. Hux and the FO turn on Kylo when they realize he won't allow them to take out their biggest threat.

Kylo vs the Knights of Ren?

 

I'm open-minded about everything. He can survive redeemed, evil or he can die redeemed or evil. As long as it's told the right way I'm all in.

Kylo vs the KOR. Maybe he doesn't survive this fight, but he saves Rey. This would be epic.

 

I was mad when I saw the flashbacks in TLJ. Stars Wars has never done flashbacks and I wanted it to stay that way. I like to theorize that the flashbacks were actually images projected into Rey's mind.

I'm open-minded too. I still think there is a possibility that Kylo will be redeemed and Rey will turn to the dark side (as both have seen other's future). Then, an equilibrium, a balance.

In that case, flashbacks or forcebacks or future visions could be interesting.

 

Interesting. Yes, Kylo did say that Rey would be the one to turn in the end. Maybe they both turn, or perhaps what they saw was them changing into something else, not light nor darkness. Or, they momentarily turn, just to turn back again, or to reach a state of balance.

I'm open minded too and I see a lot of possibilities here. The main questions for IX seem to be: what happens to Kylo Ren and Rey, and consequently, the force itself. Bonus thought: Perhaps they close themselves off from the force, and voilá, balance is achieved. They would both "diminish" and be just a simple man and woman. However, that does not mean their children can't be force sensitive, from their union or from them if they go separate ways.

I wouldn't deal in absolute with Kylo actually going back, but rather, Kylo tending to go back or wishing to go back... there's a subtle nuance the intention is worth the action.

I would TOTALLY BUY that ! Kylo sacrifices himself to save the light, exactly what did Vader in front of the Emperor, to save Luke. What a circle-is-now-complete-symbol !

Good point here. But who projects : Snoke or Kylo ?

 

The person telling the story being flashed back to.

 

In the vision Kylo also wear his mask in the forest on Starkiller Base.

But in the actual scene he didn't.

So the future isn't really depicted right completely.

 

The forceback visions and flashback are been handly amazing in the ST so far. I would like too see Snoke in one in IX.
