    I think the sequence of events on Jakku, based on the clips and pics that I've seen, might go like this (the lighting helped me a lot here, because JJ chose to shoot a number of scenes in what appears to be early morning and sunset)...

    NIGHT-TIME ON JAKKU
    - FO raid of Jakku village
    - Poe gets captured
    - BB-8 watches the destruction from afar, then rolls across the desert

    MORNING ON STAR DESTROYER
    - Poe is tortured by Kylo
    - Finn is disgusted by the raid

    MORNING ON JAKKU
    - Rey scavenges the Star Destroyer

    MID-DAY ON STAR DESTROYER / JAKKU
    - Finn helps Poe escape
    - They crash the TIE on Jakku

    MID-DAY ON JAKKU
    - Rey goes to the marketplace, cleaning up things she has scavenged
    - Rey crosses paths with BB-8, though they don't partner up quite yet
    - Finn, after a tiring walk, sees the marketplace in the distance

    SUNSET ON JAKKU
    - Rey rides her speeder past the setting sun, heading home
    - BB-8 watches, ultimately decides to follow

    EARLY NEXT MORNING ON JAKKU
    - Rey hears a commotion near her AT-AT home, grabs her staff
    - BB-8, traveling all night towards Rey's place, has been captured
    - Rey saves BB-8 from Teedo

    LATER, BUT STILL EARLY THAT MORNING ON JAKKU
    - Rey takes BB-8 to the marketplace
    - Rey has a run-in with a local thug that impresses Finn
    - Finn approaches Rey, but before they can exchange names, the FO appears
    - Ground troops and 2 TIEs attack, setting up the chase scene through the marketplace and onto the Millennium Falcon

    I can fit all the clips I've seen so far into this theory, but I'm sure a tv spot or photo will pop up that will blast this theory into oblivion! (epic fail)
