Luke's line from the trailer: "The force is strong in my family..."

It wasn't in the final cut. Could it be in an early scene in VIII? Or was it cut completely?

If I recall correctly (I could be wrong), Snoke's line from the first trailer ("There has been an awakening. Have you felt it? The dark side and the light.") was not in the movie either. At least not in its entirety.

Well it was a twist on the dialogue from ROTJ, not exactly the same.

There's a lot of material cut from this movie.

You can read about a lot of it in the MF shooting schedule.

I can't help but feel that giving Arndt the extra time he wanted to get a script written would have been worth it in the long run. Disney just seemed to be in such a rush to get the movie in production, that they didn't really have the time to perfect the story.

"There has been an awakening"/"Have you felt it" - I swear it was in the movie, but I believe they perhaps cut "The dark and the light."

Yeah it was. I definitely think the family one was cut too and it was to Rey but JJ decided to leave that hanging.

A lot of voice overs from the trailers and tv spots weren't in the movie or were strongly adapted. That was part of JJ misleading us and that was well done.

The scene from the trailer in which Luke places his hand on R2-D2 is in the vision Rey has, but there is not voice over that I recall. It imagine the scene in which Luke places his hand on R2-D2 was probably part of a larger seen that was cut to keep the mystery of Rey's parentage a secret.
