The first game was pretty good with the boss battles and level design.

The second game however turned out to be terrible and was too short.

Good to know thanks to @DarthDwight I know to post it in the fan-fiction.
I agree the first one filled in the blanks of how the rebel alliance was founded I felt the second one needed more levels it started on Kamino then ended on Kamino that was going nowhere.

I gotta be honest, I thought the story was merely decent. The love sub-plot was charming and the whole assassinating jedi targets was badass, but there were bits that irked me, like how the Rebellion was founded (indirectly) by Darth FREAKING Vader.

Also, Vader is such a pushover compared to Galen, which just doesn't work for me. At least Rebels respected the fact that Vader is someone you don't want to mess with.

    TFU:

    Rebels:

As for the gameplay though, I did enjoyed the Hell out of it. I especially like the fact you can have a large variety of outfits. And mind you, I played on the PS2 version, which is inferior to Xbox360/PS3 version (in terms of graphics).

Overall, it's a fun game with an okay plot.

I like TFU as a non-canon game and story, but hate it as an entry in the canon. I felt this way even before Disney entered the picture.

I've never played TFU II, but I can still say that I hate it as an entry in the canon.

For anyone who's interested, the Xbox version of TFU will be available as a free download for Xbox Live Gold members from 16/2-28/2 in the UK/Europe (not sure if this will apply in US too - sorry).

It's backwards compatible on Xbox One too, so if you fancy re-living the old game or even just finding out what @Grand Master Galen Marek's user name is all about, then here's your chance to do it gratis.

The reason why I think it could work is because it would make more sense towards Vader having secret apprentices during the OT since Galen is his secret apprentice during the video games

But it's your story Galen... it must be like reading your own diaries, years after the events!

I find the dialogue between Vader & the Apprentice just before their duel very interesting.

VADER: I've trained you well. But you still have much to learn.
STARKILLER: You have nothing left to teach me!

This seems to be a callback to the rough draft of The Phantom Menace, where a similar exchange takes place between Obi-Wan and Darth Maul:

OBI-WAN: Your style of fighting is old, but I understand it now...
    MAUL: You learn fast.
OBI-WAN: You don't bother to learn.
    MAUL: I don't have to.
    *Obi-Wan kills Maul*
OBI-WAN: Learn not, live not, my Master always says.

And of course in the Light Side ending of TFU, it's Starkiller and not Vader who dies.

I love this game, I probably haven't played it in a year or so but I just noticed it was on Games With Gold. I didn't download it as I have the Ultimate Sith Edition, so I installed not realizing until then that it was backwards compatible. Played through a couple of levels last night and it's still fun. I almost wish they just hadn't made a sequel, even though I enjoyed it. Or at least that they hadn't ended it on a cliffhanger. The first game wrapped itself up nicely and ended on a great note, but they couldn't leave that money alone and had to drag the gang back out for another adventure, which wasn't as successful and left us with an unresolved cliffhanger.

Same with KOTR. The second one was awful. Didn't even finish it.

The heroes captured Darth Vader and carried him off to a Rebel Alliance base for trial. That's a cliffhanger so absurd I half expect LucasArts made a third TFU game at the same time & just didn't release it.

Actually, as I recall, it was the departure of then LucasArts president Jim Ward, and his replacement by Darrell Rodriguez, which led to the third game not being released. I can't say I was unhappy with Rodriguez' tenure, though, as he also oversaw the remakes of Monkey Island 1 & 2, which brought the company's classic graphic adventure games back to prominence.
