I found this one to below average. I don't much care for Choppers antics.

    good:

    * the imperial droid arc and friendship worked for me.

    * bringing back Ketsu. I don't like the character that much, but I like how seemingly filler episodes tie back into the later narrative.

    * I did actually laugh the first time chopper hit the dude with his leg

    bad:
    * They humanize droids too much. If droids are sentient, then they are basically enslaved by their owners. I always figured 3po and r2 to be exceptions due to not getting wiped frequently....but if every imperial droid can be like "forget this, time for mutiny".....

*chopper just abandons post to get a new leg.

    * this boring filler episode wouldn't have been so bad if it didn't come so close to the end. Making us wait a week for this was terrible. I feel like this season has only a small number of episodes that push the bigger picture forward.

I didn't have too many thoughts for this weeks episode, but my favorite part is hearing other fans opinions on it.

I just saw it and i think it sucked pretty bad. Some scenes felt more like Tom & Jerry than Star Wars.

I'm not much of a Chopper fan, but I really enjoyed this episode. Sometimes I feel as though people just expect deep, dark story from Star Wars; and that's just not what the franchise is about. We get that stuff, but we also get to have fun with our characters, too. This episode was a fun adventure with Chopper that both linked us back to the Clone War and pointed a way forward for our rebels. I enjoyed the rapport between the new droid (I don't remember his name) and Chopper... very Threepio/Artoo, except a bit more extreme.

I'm also looking forward to the upcoming stuff that we saw in the trailer. But the fact that this episode didn't contain those things does not automatically mean that this episode was bad. It's true that this episode was it's own thing, and I liked it quite a bit.

I thought it was one of the best supporting character-based episodes of the series so far.

I did not mind the episode but the timing of the episode felt off. I think I would have enjoyed the episode more if it would have come earlier in the season. I am probably getting impatient for the season's end. Judging from next week's trailer (i.e., Sabine, Rex, and giant space spiders), it seems that the events on Malachor, the third inquisitor, the green crossguard, meeting Darth Maul, and Ahsoka fighting Darth Vader will all take place in only two episodes. Several times this season, I have felt that episodes were rushed and I am afraid that this season's ending will be rushed too. I think I had hoped that the build towards the end of the season would begin earlier.

I don't need things to be dark. I just don't think the star wars TV shows do humor well. I enjoyed the artoo arc in clone wars.

While "the fact that this episode didn't contain those things does not automatically mean that this episode was bad" is of course 100% true, it is hard to separate expectations from enjoyment.

Taken on their own, I've enjoyed most of the episodes this season. But as a whole, the season felt aimless and meandering. I kinda wish it were a more focused 13 episodes.

    I super agree.

"Aimless and meandering" reminds me of how I felt about most of The Clone Wars TV show especially since those episodes jumped around in the timeline. It's funny because I thought Rebels Season 1 was a step up over TCW, but Season 2 has been a step backwards overall.

I can see that. With all the arcs they did, clone wars felt like a series of barely related 90 min made for TV movies.

The thing I think a lot of people who are (in general) criticizing this episode seem to forget is that this series main target is for children. My kids loved the episode because they like chopper and they found it to be funny. As far as the placement of the episode, while we may have preferred it elsewhere, it fits perfectly for a children show as it brings some levity in the middle of some episodes that are relatively "dark"

Was this my most favorite episode? No. Did I enjoy it? Yes. It was light-hearted and fun and there is nothing wrong with that.

chopper finding the "new" base for the rebels is very fitting. Its kinda like when R2D2 had the video of princess leia, to me. it leads into "Choppers base" and with Kanan being knighted and wanted to haunt down the inquisitors makes it all interesting. I think them haunting them down will strengthen them but will come to a cost due to Darth Vader being more powerful. awaiting darth maul and how it all pans out. Still think everything is that happens in the SW saga is always true. so I do think Ezra will turn to the darkside. I think Kanan will fight Vader for a greater good in the future. and Vader will kill Ahsoka, just to tie in to what Ahsoka said in shroud of darkness. will see...

May the force be with you always...

After all the negative things I'd heard about the episode, I actually enjoyed it! It definitely should have been one of the first 5 episodes of the season, but Chopper identifying the new base was a cool touch going forward. Who knows, maybe the episode will have more significance in future (though I doubt it! :D)

I actually really enjoyed this light interlude, especially before it gets heavy again. I was frequently loling in my pants.

Chopper is a naughty little independent droid, that's what makes him so lovable. His cheek is first class, but he also really gets friendship and loyalty. Isn't that what the droids are good for in star wars, teaching us how to be more human?

Maybe they could have done the droid mutiny thing better, but there's only so much you can do in such short episodes. And tell me you didn't fell bad for the poor abused Imperial droid, suffering under Empire control. His characterization was brilliantly done, loved him! He reminded me a bit of Marvin from Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe, only more pessimistic. He had some great one liners, 'your logic circuits must be malfunctioning', and where he say something like 'free will, must be nice'.

This, and the fact that it appears that they are also trying to make these a bit more "mix and match" for rerun value. I'm sure one reason that TCW is never on anymore (despite probable rights' holder issues) is that they would not work well out of order, or randomly scattered times.

    It is what it is.

This means many of these are "heist of the week (HOTW)" type episodes, and I actually kinda like that. Too much story-driven episodes either get convoluted or ridiculous over time, because it is very hard to keep on creating more and more plots without retread, so I like the balance they give us (mostly) of a little less than half the season is major story arcs, with the rest character and HOTW fun.

I kind of liked it.... I enjoy filler episodes tho... I enjoy one off stories and this is a fun little story focused on chopper. BUT I can see why so many people disliked it.
