So that’s was a good qualifying session & sets up the race nicely for tomorrow.
But damm we’re the Torro Rossa drivers lucky as that could have been a very nasty accident.
Also with Raikkonen out of position & on difrent tyres plus the wind that first corner could get very messy/interesting.

So where do we start with this crazy race.
Only 2 safty cars this year.
Raikkonen & Alonso both had first lap incidents & still get point & Raikkonen a podium
The Hulk & Grosjean nboth crash behind a safty car
The Red Bulls take it other out
Vettel locks up with a couple of laps left a goes from 2 to 4th
& poor Bottas get a puncture 2 laps from the end & fails to finish
    DID I MISS ANYTHING
Anyway next stop BARCELONA & hopefully it’s just as exciting.

Wow that was even more crazy then China .
Hopefully the Baku course will be on the race calendar for years & it really shows what a street circuit can deliver in terms of racing Monaco & Singapore May look amazing but this one beat them in terms of racing.

Also when you have so meny retirements some of the smaller teams get to shine so I’m absolutely stoked to see LeClerc doing so well plus Sauber & Torro Rossa both did well & even Williams managed to get some points thanks to Stroll.
Barcelona will probably get back to normal with the top 3 dominating the points but that midfield battle is turning int a great fight for 4th to 10th in the Constructors Championship.

I get what you mean, but they really have to do something to improve the spectacle... while the entertainment and excitement of China and Baku were great to watch, the circuits lend themselves to shaking things up. Barcelona is frequently a dull one (though not as bad as the little lamented Valencia), so it'll be interesting to see if there's more going on there next weekend or it slips back to a more predictable by-the-numbers race.

oh i totally agree that something needs to be done.

the problem for the FIA is that the people designing the cars are a hell of a lot smarter than the folk coming up with these changes.

they almost don't need to work out what Aero changes are needed.. they just need a way of getting through to the teams that the cars must not disrupt cars behind or they will be massively punished. Anything they implement that the teams actually agree on... will be worked around unfortunately.

Probably the German one which would be a shame but both the tracks have had problems hosting it recently.

Also there is a fascinating article about Alonso &that Baku drive on the BBC F1 page. That car should ever have got back to the pits let alone finish 7th.

Formula 1 will be dead by 2040, because gasoline/petroleum fuelled cars are to banned in almost all European countries (where F1 is most popular) by 2040. Even hybrid cars are to be banned. It will electric cars only by then. Perhaps Formula E will still be around in 2040? Or not.

So it looks like the Miami Grand Prix is a go & it not replacing anything as they are expanding the racing calendar to 22 races. I also heard that Liberty Media want to have a 25 race calendar at some point which from a spectator POV is fantastic but it’s going to be pushing the teams & cars to there limit.

    My Monaco GP race thoughts.
In terms of actual action there really wasn’t a lot even by Monaco standers we didn’t even get a safty car :(

But Yes Yes Yes very well done Ricciardo after dominating FP 1 2 3 & Qualifying to then have his battery fail at about 1/3 distance was I thought the end of what had been a perfect weeken but he kept it together managed the problems & somehow keep his underpowered car ahead & take the win. Yes it helps massively that this happened at Monaco we’re a lack of power has the least effect of any track but it was still a fantastic achievement to get the car home let alone win the race.
