ok.. i didn't post my thoughts yesterday about the race because the profanity filter would have crashed from over use :D

I really enjoyed the race from the excitement perspective of... could Vettel get up to 2nd, could Hamilton get to fifth.. could force india get 2 cars in the top 5 with a podium.. could any Renault powered car get to the end? lol

the first 2 corners of the race were soul crushing. for a split second i was going to get the race i was desperate for.. Max, Seb and Lewis wheel to wheel with the Red Bull at the front.

not for the first time... Seb was found wanting in the big moment and clipped both cars. He is still an awesome driver, but the pressure of being in that red car is causing mistakes.. regularly.

congratulations to Lewis.. a very worthy world champion for 2017. hasn't always had the best car on sundays, but his race craft was enough to get him there with 2 races to go.

MV was simply brilliant. it was making me chuckle hearing his race engineer trying to get him to slow down to save the car... and he just kept pumping in faster laps lol.

i would have loved to have seen Alonso without penalties in that race... i think he may have sneeked a podium yesterday the way he was driving.

bring on Brazil.. and hopefully some rain :D

So Massa is definitely going to retire this year

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/41870426

So who do you think we replace him. Personally I think Kvyat may have a chance simply because As much as I would like to see it I just don't think Kubica is going to be up to competing a full F1 season.

Yeah, it’s a shame, but ‘17 was definitely a stay of execution as he’d already technically retired in ‘16.

I think you’re probably right that Kvyat has the best chance at getting the seat... which is another shame as I’d personally like to see Kubica back or even Di Resta. Kvyat is too erratic - he’s either fast and good or average and crashing. I’d even vote for Ferrari protege Charles Leclerc, but the team can’t really afford to gamble on another rookie alongside a guy with a single season behind him. Williams need a proven regular points scorer.

& LeClerc has probably got one of the Sauber seats thanks to his links with Ferrari or if doesn't then fellow Ferrari protege Giovinazzi will get it.

Good point Leclerc and Giovinazzi are both Ferrari developed, so the Williams link may not be tenable.
I reckon you’re probably bang on that Kvyat is most likely man for the jon as he comes with funding... though whether it’s enough to offset his damage costs (a la Maldonado) is another question.

Also being called a Red Bull reject doesn't exactly help when it comes to geting a new driver but Williams do need a new driver & at least he does have experience.

I think Kvyat is the worst of all options.. if the car isn't fast he will simply radio in and b!tch that the car isn't good enough. Kubica would be better for the dev of the car.

    Kubica or diresta for me.

As for ferrari.. I know Kimi has a big fan following, but I'd boot him now and have LeClerk in for Brazil and next year. He will be an f1 world champion sooner than later.. put the kid in a fast car now.

    Just my 2 cents :)

kimi is fun to listen to with his radio messages but when you have a Driver Development program you would think they would use them rather then keep Kimi in the car long term. Yes he is a safe option but as I think it was Alonso said Ferrari will never win a construction title with him because he doesn't really give the No 1 driver enough support heck even Botas has done a better job in that regard then Kimi.

I’d agree... Kvyat has had his moment and just doesn’t seem consistent enough. Kubica was just getting better and better before the accident and despite the injuries I’d like to see him get another shot at it. It would be a real moment of overcoming adversity if he could - and the sport could do with some good publicity.

You’re probably on to something with the Leclerc over Kimi thing too. I’ve always been a Ferrari fan since I was a kid and not too worried about who it’s drivers were... Kimi used to be arrogantly funny, but he comes off as an increasingly apathetic racer. New blood would give the team a kick along.

unfortunately they wont ever do that. LeClerk wont be let in that car competitively until Seb is out the door.

The Scuderia are fixated with having a number 1 driver and a subservient number 2. it claws at me, that Kimi has become that.. because i remember how damn fast he was, but we wont ever see it again.

we all love Ferrari.. but the way they operate makes my blood boil.
