Indeed. I am surprised no one mentioned this.
But it could be her thinking back to her own birth and Padme's death - after all, she does recall this memory when talking to Luke on Endor. ;)
What's more, this quote insinuates twins - Rey and Kylo have a ten year aged gap. So they're either definitely not twins or Leia had one awful birth experience.
But then, maybe Kylo did have a twin at birth and that twin died? Maybe Kylo felt that loss all along?
Or maybe Leia didn't know she had twins and one was stolen! Ah, theory overload!

I'm going with it being a vision of Padme!

I think Chuck Wendig is alluding to Padme dying while giving birth to Luke and Leia: "She dreams of herself on a table, dying as her child—no, children—are born." It was a surprise to everyone involved on Polis Massa that she was carrying twins.

I think this shows us that these visions can change perspective. The vision itself is ambigious and it can be Leia changing to the perspective of Padme, or....Ben had a twin sister/brother who died ...who knows....

Well, Han didn't die in the snow so it wouldn't be wise to read much into it especially if that part of the vision is probably her mother who died giving birth to twins.

we should keep in mind 'always in motion the future is', so maybe someone just sees an alternative of what happens.

Maybe Rey had the map all along, and LST had to figure out how to get it from her without tipping her off...

    Edit to add:

On another note, in a Galaxy where Obi Wan doesn't believe in luck, and coincidences are the will of the Force, I find it interesting that no one has brought up, in light of what the books are telling us, that the reason Rey was left on Jakku was perhaps that the Dark Side "thing" Sidious was interested in masked her presence in the Force. It makes sense to me. Hide the flower near a pile of sewage so no one can smell the sweetness.

A lot of the coincidences and plot holes folks have been complaining about since the release of TFA are starting to look like very deliberate actions.

If she did own this "memory-stick" (let us just call it that way) she probably didn't know what was on it.
Could it be that the map was on some other memory device and LST put it on that "memory-stick"?
    Hmmm....

I don't think there is any indication that Rey and LST had any contact, but I do think it could have been found in wreckage on Jakku. The map could have been in some other container, but it has always been my hunch that it and the larger map it fits into originated at the research facility on Jakku.

If LST found essentially a map of Luke's trip then there is a good chance Luke visited Jakku in tha past? The map showed a progression from one planet to the next until it reaches Luke's location as if it is a trail. If you Hyperdrive to Ach-too there would not be any need for intermediate stops. Somehow a trail of Luke's flight ended up on Jakku.

He was there and left it behind or had someone take it there.

Interesting...is there any way to confirm the map was trail/path, and not just showing one destination?

hmm, if Rey had this part of the map, why and who gave it to her? Luke, her father, because he knew she would one day find him with this information? :)

The map is not necessarily of Luke's travels. It could be some older map of a pilgimage route to all the temples back to Asch-To. LST knew that was where Luke was headed, so he at least had a good lead on where Luke would be if not definitive knowledge.

I think this must be the answer. It's not so much a "map to Luke" specifically, but a "map of a route to the first Jedi Temple" which happened to be where Luke was going. The Imperial archives contained such a map that was incomplete — both the First Order and Artoo possessed this map, the latter from when he plugged into the Death Star computers and downloaded anything that looked interesting.

Somehow, Lor San Teka, who was on his own pilgrimage to Force-related holy sites, managed to find the part that had been missing from the Imperial archives.

Talking more about visions, the one Luke had in Weapon of a Jedi book, was also interesting:

"He was swimming in dark water, beneath two pale moons in a sky spangled with stars. He moved through the water with smooth, easy strokes, alternately gliding along the surface and dipping beneath it. When he got tired he surfaced and treated water gently until the ripples he'd created ebbed, turning the water into a mirror of the night sky. He looked down at the water and saw his face looking back – except it wasn’t his face. His reflection had black eyes and mottled gray-and-green skin wreathed by tentacles.

He dove, powerful kicks of his feet taking him deep beneath the water. He inhaled water, but didn’t choke – the oxygen in it revitalized him. He smiled. It was peaceful down there below the surface – a realm of pleasantly cool water and muted sound.

A rock wall loomed ahead of him , with a dark oval cut in the middle of it. He swam down into it, then up through a twisting corridor. His feet found purchase on step stones, and his head broke the surface of the water. At the top of the stairs stood a human in dark gray and brown robes. He was holding a lightsaber, which he held out with a smile."

That's a good reference but I took it to mean he was having a vision about the Jedi who owned the saber Luke was given. He described the strange grip which seemed to be made for an amphibious being's hands. As I recall, Luke took the vision to mean that he was being "given" the LS and it was OK to take it apart so he could see how it works. It was after this (going from memory) that look figured out that you needed to use the force to align the crystal.

nope, you mix 2 books, it was the book 'Heir to the Jedi', in which Luke deconstructed the lightsaber he was given and too see about the crystal. The book 'Weapon of a Jedi' has Luke stranded on the planet Devaron, where an old destroyed Jedi temple was. Luke has his vision on this planet. ;)

Thanks! Even with the EU being relegated to Legends status it is hard to keep track of current canon when you take in all of the new material.
