The weapon above is confirmed to be in The Mandalorian.

"The bounty hunter also brandished a distinctive weapon. Briefly described in the original script as a “tuning fork,” the Nelvana layout team created a unique design. (It has also seen new life recently, as revealed in a behind-the-scenes photo from the forthcoming live-action series The Mandalorian.) Celestri remembers from the original special that “it was my improvisational choice to have Boba use the tuning fork to smack the beast several times. I figured it would help show his personality.

When The Empire Strikes Back came out, I remember thinking that the character had more screen time in our animation than in the feature film! But when it’s all put together it makes for a very interesting character, and I’m glad to have contributed to it in some ways.”

Here's a good rundown of what on earth happened during the production of this... thing.

In that picture, what is Boba even riding? It really is remarkable that Boba was first introduced in this mess.

When Favreau shared the weaphon I decided to rewatch the entire cartoon. Didn't remember so much.
And I have to say is quite impressive and quite good. The animation has some kind of personality, with little points (keeping the distance) from Moebius, Baksy and a colorful palette of colours and a cool vintage/underground look. Voices and sound are so great. Could see a few episodes of this.

I rewatched the special with my dad around this time last year, as he'd never seen it.

I'm still left wondering why I thought that was a good idea, even fleetingly.

Say what you will, I love the Holiday Special. I grew up watching variety shows in prime time. The Holiday Special is a special kind of nostalgia for me. It's like a time capsule. There is nothing else like it.

I would love if they made a new Holiday Special.
