Mark Stanley already was in Star Wars (TFA) and he wasn't a KOR. He's the one who got stabbed by Kylo Ren in Rey's vision.

I wouldn't put it past them to be honest. Look what they did Max Von Sydow. For a big name actor, he had a very underwhelming scene that lasted for only few minutes.

 

Just rewatched TFA and never notice Snoke tells Kylo, “Master of the Knights of Ren.” Pardon if my quotes from TFA or TLJ are not perfect, I have only seen TFA three times and TLJ about twice. Wheras I watchex the Prequels and OT countless times.

 

Daniel Craig and Tom Hardy were masked stormtroopers. Hardy didn't even make the final cut. XD

 

When you're going for a quicker and faster pace. Characters die quicker and at a faster pace.

 

I think Max Von Sydow was small but sure very impactful. For me that's an excellent example of how to use a veteran actor in a film like this.

Daniel Craig and Tom Hardy are famous Hollywood actors with a cameo. Mark Stanley is a different kind of actor though... his face is not recognisable, yet he's experienced. I would think if you get an actor with his chops you would use him dramatically... Unless he is a martial arts or fighting pro, in which case I would understand why he plays a masked fighter.

 

That’s because Hardy was auditioning for Darth Bane.

 

Okay, this confirms that the KOR were indeed an existing group before Ben became Kylo Ren-


But who is the guy with the red lightsaber? Maybe the previous Master of the KOR, who got killed by Kylo Ren?

That'd be my best guess. I still think the Knights of Ren evolved from the Acolytes of the Beyond, but I'm sure we'll learn more in the coming weeks and months. I'd love to see some reference or appearance of the Acolytes of the Beyond in The Mandalorian. According to "Empire's End," one of the Acolytes did have a red lightsaber (I believe it was given to them by Palpatine's advisor Yupe Tashu, though my memory on that detail is a little fuzzy), so perhaps that's where it originated.

 

Wow. This is great.

 

What's also really interesting about this image is the ship in the background. It looks a whole lot like Kylo Ren's shuttle from Episodes VII and VIII. It suggests to me that it was an existing ship, not one he had specially commissioned.

 

Who is the guy with the red lightsaber? Three words. Dread. Pirate. Roberts.

 

Yes, it's cool that we finally get more information about the KOR, but I kinda dislike that we get it in the form of a comic book. Stuff like this should have been worked into Episode VIII... Don't waste significant events like these in a medium which only hardcore fans consume. If you can't implement it in the main movies - I couldn't think of a reason why they wouldn't be able to use something like that though - then at least develop a spin-off movie featuring this topic.

I would say, it's one of Snoke's other students. We know he had some before Kylo.

 

It could be Kylo Ren. You see Ben and Luke fighting the KOR, the one witj the red ligjysaber could be Kylo Ren ti allude that Ben oneday will be the Master of the Knights of Ren.

The artist is probably trying to show a full circle image, that Ben fights the KOR, but then leads them later.

 

But he doesn't look like Kylo Ren and doesn't have the cross guard lightsaber as he does as Kylo.

 

Indeed, which throws the viewer off. But it could be to mirror Ben who has a regular lightsaber at the front of the artwork.

I saw an art piece like this during TFA, it was concept art for Kylo or Luke; the hand looks like Luke’s. Hmmm..

 

It was meant for the Jedi Killer aka Kylo Ren-

That would have been a scary looking villain.
