Here's a thread to discuss all the extra features for the The Last Jedi release.

I'm gonna give props to Lucasfilm/Disney/Rian Johnson because it appears this release is a huge improvement over what we got for The Force Awakens. I've already watched the film twice now since it came out and I can't wait to watch all the other features.

I haven't seen the documentary yet, but by all accounts it appears to be an improvement over last time.

For sure, the TFA extras were kinda weak. The deleted scenes were pretty short and unfinished seeming. These look really interesting (though, I guess there's the argument to be made that they should have been in the film to begin with).

RJ tweeted that there's another special feature that's the movie with no dialogue, SFX, anything... just the William's score and the accompanying movie images. That's pretty darn cool, and will probably make fan montages a piece of cake.

Is the documentary exclusive to just the Digital downloads or will it be available for the BR too? Anyone know?

All of the special features will be available on BR, except for a version of a film with an isolated soundtrack, which is only on Movies Anywhere.

I saw some bonus material on instagram and facebook. Just a few seconds of the cutting scene of Phasma, Rey's third lesson and Rose bitting Hux finger. For what I saw I think they were well cutted fom the final version, specially the "bitting" one.
There is a scene of Luke and Frank Oz that is very emotional also.

There's about 25 minutes of deleted scenes. Some of them are really good and I understand why they were cut. There's some small stuff with Finn/Poe/BB-8 that I really like. The caretaker scene with Rey/Luke is interesting, but it doesn't add that much.

It looks like it will be available for the BR, also, or a code provided.

I started the documentary, it's pretty great so far... it's very Rian Johnson praise heavy (which for those who didn't like the film, might be a bit sickening)

It's pretty obvious that Lucasfilm/Disney were over the moon with the movie that Rian delivered.

Also the commentary was really good. For something that was recorded prior to the films release, you get the sense that Rian had an inkling of some of the scenes that were gonna be the most controversial or talked about because he goes into detail on what he was thinking/trying to do with them. Leia in space, Luke tossing the lightsaber, etc. things like that.

Still haven't seen the documentary, but deleted scenes were good. It's clear why they were cut, but I still liked seeing them. The scene in the elevator with Storm Troopers made me laugh. Sad Luke was sad. Caretakers FTW.

The commentary is good, Rian never fails to mention anyone who helped him on the movie. And he really appreciate his actors.

More than anything, I FINALLY HAVE THE MOVIE. IT'S MINE! MY PRECIOUSSSSSS.....

Kristian Harloff makes a brief appearance on Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Director and Jedi (featurette), watch him change his tune about this film once his audience goes nuts about his appearance on this featurette. I say this because every comment Harloff has articulated about Star Wars The Last Jedi has alluded to him disliking the film on his show Jedi Council.
He is not brave enough to say he dislikes the film but will banter on about all the negatives. Before the film was released he praised Rian Johnson stating how much of a great writer he is. Now he has stated numerous times that KK made a huge mistake giving him a Star Wars trilogy. If he suddenly changes his tune about this film it will only be for his appearance on this featurette.
All the negative talk about TLJ that he has made on his show solidifies the fact he knew nothing about his appearance on this featurette. John Campea, one of my favorite film pundits went crazy when he saw himself on this featurette, even to the point of calling his mom about it saying I'm in Star Wars mom!!! John Campea is an honest film pundit and a great host, however Harloff is the most dishonest film pundit and i only bare watching his show because he snags great guest and host that have worked on the films and LFL. Other then that he just jumps on the bandwagon and adds more fuel to the controversy that the backlash is real.

He's going to change his opinion because he's in a featurette? This is kind of off topic, but Harloff has been pretty clear that he has mixed feelings about the film and he's laid out why he feels that way. His opinion may shift over time (one way or the other), but I don't understand why his opinion changing matters enough to create some conspiracy as to why.

I don’t say this as sarcasm but as a genuine compliment after having just watched The Director and the Jedi - I enjoyed the documentary and found it better and more emotional than the movie itself.
