Rumors are circulating that the Star Wars: The Last Jedi basic figure line from Hasbro will include an accessory, or component, called the Force Link Bracelet. It will essentially allow the figures to talk to each other. If you're old enough, this sounds like the evolution of the Commtech Chip that came with each figure in the basic figure line from The Phantom Menace in 1999, wherein you used a deluxe Commtech Chip Reader modeled after the Jedi commlink, and scanned the chips over the reader, and you heard dialogue and lines from that character.

It's incredibly cool and nostalgic! I'm really excited about the basic figure line now!

I dunno if talking bracelets will entice kids to buy The Last Jedi action figures. I don't think kids today are that wild about toys in general, if the clearance aisle of my local Wal-Mart is any indication (There are a whole mess of Rogue One Jyn Erso/Cassian/K-2SO 3-packs that are like $9 that no one seems to have touched).

Also, this Force Link Bracelet idea sounds too much like a retread of the Commtech concept from the TPM toyline, and at least with those, the chips could double as figure display stands.

The problem I find with action figures nowadays is the cost....they are so freaking expensive. Higher pricing means hard to collect them all and I'm the type of guy that is gonna collect them all if I start collecting them.

OP do you have a link or photos regarding this?

Force link bracelet... If it's a force link, why does it need a bracelet? Kids should just imagine a force connection and play like that, whisper to each other or whatever.

I've heard from websites like JediTempleArchives that when the Vintage Collection comes back next year, they're going to cost in the neighborhood of around $15! Aren't 6-inch Black Series figures something like $20-25, depending on the retailer?

Talk about a potential death knell for the hobby.

I saw on some leaked images of The Last Jedi toys, packaged with a Poe Dameron pack-in figure, was a ring-like item. Could this be the Force Link Bracelet? Technology has come a long ways in the years since TPM, it would make sense they'd probably make them child ring finger-sized.
