She could just called a "Skywalker" instead of a "Jedi", or a "Jedi of the Skywalker breed". Becoming an ultimate Force User using Luke's new ideals/correct Force teachings. She's probably too much into her adult age to be officially adopted and Luke be called her guardian.

If it is the sillouette of Rey we see using the lightsaber in the Ahch-To scenes, she's already mirroring Luke's Combat Form. Reminded me of his open stance style. Cool!

 

I really liked Ben Skywalker character. Reminded me of what Anakin could have been. I would like something like that.

 

Haha, yeah it just makes me sad that the Skywalker line could end. I guess as a father myself it bums me out that the Skywalker family would die.

Has anybody ever explored the idea that Luke's child couldn't use the force? Imagine a Skywalker that had to save the galaxy just as a regular person? I'm sure someone must have done a book/comic/interpretive dance about that. Could be interesting.

i know he's not a Skywalker by name, but Ben is still alive and lively at the moment. the Skywalker line isn't totally sunk yet.
so again, if it's the line that matters, there's hope.
we just may have to compromise on the name.

so: either an adopted Skywalker of no blood, or a blood Skywalker who doesn't bear the name.

Rey takes the Skywalker name, Ben takes Rey, they makes lots of little Skywalkers going forward and everyone gets what they want except the people who break out into a rash at the mention of "Reylo". : D

 

Ha, I would be totally fine with Ben carrying on the Skywalker line even without the name, but that most likely means they would redeem his character. I would actually like that if executed correctly, but I'm not sure that's going to fly with the general public.

 

Shhh, don't say it because some people's kneecaps may break from all the overreacting, you know...

And we are all out of bacta at present because they used it all on Kylo to make him look like some sort of a sad dark prince that desperately needs saving.

Also, it's quite funny that you're critical of TLJ's trailer for not showing too much. Here's a trailer of a film called The Handmaiden that, true story, sold me on this film, despite not having seen previous work of Park Chan-Wook (I'm going to finally see it this weekend.)

It doesn't tell much, does it? Sure, it has exciting imagery but nothing more. From it we can only deduce it may be an erotic thriller. And look at how people react to it. "Amazing," "a piece of art," etc. People from Disney took the same approach with this teaser. It shows nice pictures and gives you a sense of what the final film would be like and that's more than enough.

 

That Snoke theme at the end sure is telling! I believe all the red outlining, hints at the end of the jedi, and just that darkness feeling...makes me think that TFO is going to be victorious. It makes me feel like after all this, all this in the end, Snoke. His theme played after all of that chaos...making me sense victory for him.

Yeah, I noticed that too, and thought it a smart and inspired decision to use the opening cue of The Ways of the Force to set up that one note of the male choir.

Personally, I don't think it points to victory for him and the FO at the end of this trilogy, per se, but I think it's likely in this film (just considering that it's the second entry in a trilogy).

What I do think - and hope - it points towards is some more dialogue from this character, and perhaps even some demonstration of his power in TLJ.

The Ahch-To training scenes is meant to be Rey in training and Luke watching. Looking at Luke's figure we can make out two poles which are his legs, but in photographs, his cloak and usual garments are full-length touching the ground. Maybe it's just a stone figure/monument and not actually Luke, or it could be somebody else there.
